Good Morning!!
I really don't have much to say,but I thought it might be cruel and unusual punishment to keep making you look at my Christmas decorating pictures,even though my house still looks that way. Haven't taken anything down and don't know when I will.
A few weeks ago I fell into a deep dark rabbit hole. Thought I was working my way up out of it,but it seems to be slippery and I've slipped a bit. Believe it or not after all this time,there's still so much to handle on a daily basis. BUT I'm still working on stuff!!! Thank God for my work!!! I'm getting things ready for a new selling blog that I've joined,that will be opening soon. I hope it's gonna be a GREAT success!!!
Once again I MUST thank you for all your great comments and emails. They sure do warm my heart and as I've said before, I do read them over and over.That includes the emails that some of you have sent,even though I'm so bad about responding to them. I'm sorry. But please know that they mean so much to me.

How I Spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Since I hurt your eyes before showing the mess that I had gotten myself into I thought I would show you how it looks now,after a bit of a breakdown I had.The wreath on the door hasn't been out of the box in 5 years.I made it a long time ago.It's covered with antique & vintage ornaments.Of course since I FINALLY got it finished,it's gonna just have to stay this way!!! Look how far ahead I am for next Christmas!!!!!
I finished the rug a few days ago and it's for sale now. Great doodle design by Robin of Bird in the Hand that I adapted to this primitive rug.

Christmas Eve 2011

Well it's time to get rid of the pictures of THE MESS!!! You didn't even see half of the terrible mess!!! I've been spending this eve trying to clean it up with more decorating along the way. Mainly just the main open area of the kitchen,dining area & living room. We won't talk about the other rooms.The stuff had to be hidden somewhere, didn't it LOL!!! Whoever brings me Communion tomorrow will be shocked if it's someone who's been here in the last 2 weeks. Did ya ever notice that you never see male Angel ornaments???
Guess there's a reason for that!!! I've had these 2 crystal like angels on my tree for years. One for my Mom & one for my sister. Was wishing I could have one for John,but as I said no male Angel ornaments. Well as I was cleaning up the mess tonite,looking through a box with ornies & stuff that wasn't putting up,I found a tiny snowman,maybe not even 2" tall that had John's name on it. I prolly bought it years ago at a craft show or something. It's a wonder I found it in that box. I truly don't even remember it.I put it right up at the top front of the tree and as tiny as it is I can really see it from my chair. Everything's lookin' pretty good now,but everytime I sit down to rest,I see something else to do,so I'm pretty tired & hurtin' all over LOL!!!
There was a terrible thing today with my sweet 14 yr. old grandson that I can't even get into,but right now I guess he's ok.
Thank you all for all the kind caring posts and emails. Please know that they mean everything to me,I read them over and over. AND guess what??? I been alone today and haven't cried!!!!
Please enjoy your celebrations of this most blessed and holy time and maybe give members of your family an extra hug and an "I love you".

TIS THE SEASON

I've kinda had a breakdown this week.Haven't combed my hair,taken a shower,gotten dressed,I have been brushing my teeth though. These are my decorating for Christmas pictures.Actually just a few of them,cause every room in my house is a total wreck.The living area is better than it was though.I've been trying to unpack my nemesis,THE GARAGE while trying to decorate for Christmas. I have unpacked many many boxes. I have always decorated to the hilt and went all out full steam ahead at Christmas time.I always knew why I did it,it made everybody happy,but it also masked the pain of a 10 year old girl whose Mom went to the hospital Christmas night and died the next day.For the last 5 years John & I were so unhappy where we were living and with the money problems that forced our bankruptcy,that there just wasn't much decorating at Christmas.When I managed to get this house for us,one of the very 1st things that John said to me was,boy we're really gonna decorate this Christmas.So I have been trying so hard to do just that!! But at the same time I'm still continuing to deal with problems since John died almost on a daily basis.It would probably take me 2 days to explain all of it to you.People tell me how strong I am dealing with everything,but I don't feel that. All I feel is an extreme lonliness like no other.What seems to have really set this breakdown off this week is that I looked at the calender and remembered that today would have been my sister's birthday if she was still here.Then I thought about how alone I really am and how totally isolated,since I can't drive and go anywhere.THEN the sobbing started.Not just crying,sobbing to a point that your head hurts and you feel like you want to throw up and yet you can't stop.When I would finally stop,it would just start over again.BUT i have continued to hook,& stitch & sew & decorate,not finishing anything.I HAVE to tell you though about my 2 Lories who have steadfastly stood by me on the phone!!!!That would be Lori Rippey and Lori Brechlin.There's not enough good words that I can say about them,other than I love them and thank them with all my heart.Lori B. called PayPal and told them that she was a Social Worker and my Advocate and they needed to get things taken care of for me the RIGHT way.We then ended up on a 3 way call & things are in the process of being taken care of.You're thinking,PayPal what do they have to do with this?? Well years ago when I didn't even know how to turn the 'puter on,John set everything up with Paypal & eBay so I could start selling.BUT when he did that he used all his info,SS # & birth date,etc.Well in these past months it hasn't been enough for PayPal to tell them my husband died.It almost takes an act of Congress OR a threatening Lori Brechlin to change things!!It's not like I haven't been working on this for months.But they'd tell me I had to provide impossible things,like a picture of my attorney REALLY. But thanks to Lori it's in the works right now to change it to just have my name on it and not have John's as the primary.Would you have EVER thought my husband's death would be that big of a problem with a stupid little PayPal account??? That's how things have been everyday since John's been gone.Lori made another call too I guess it was to the department of aging in Cleveland who in turn called the MS society and I spoke to both on the phone.On my own I called Hospice and a counselor came right over yesterday morning.First I had to adamently assure all these people that suicide is SO TOTALLY out of the question for me!!! The Hospice counselor is very concerned when she came and saw the condition I'm in.She's afraid that my medications aren't working and that it's not usually a part of grieving that I have stopped doing the basic things for myself,like combing my hair.She sad that I am very clinically depressed.I'm very ashamed to say that my kids have no clue about the condition I'm in because they haven't called or come over or checked to see if I have any food,which I don't.This is NOT the way that they were raised.They saw their Dad and I always helping others. They're just too busy. But I say selfish. I'll pull myself out!!! I always have since I was that little 10 year old girl who had to become an adult overnight.And I'm working on getting in to see a woman neurologist who's also a physiciatrist that the MS Society recommended to me.
God knows that this is an UNBELIEVEABLY long post And I'm sure that I have all the pictures screwed up,but I'd like to show you 2 things that I finished last week that are original designs and both are for sale.

OLDE THYME CHRISTMAS

Pierre Noel olde timey looking Santa stump doll. I've used vintage fabric to create him,rag stuffed him and gave a little weight to the bottom with crushed walnut shells. His nose is needle sculpted.I used artist pencils for his eyes. Old sheep's wool for his beard,forelock and eyebrows. His robe and hood are fashioned from a vintage army blanket. Such a great green color!!! His belt is grungy cotton with rusty bells. On his back he carries his bundle of switches For the bad kids (just kiddin'LOL). He's 9" tall & 5 1/2" wide at his outstretched arms.

I LOVE this rug!!! It really has an olde thyme look to it that I was trying to achieve by using hand dyed and textured wools. Doesn't it remind you of Christmas's long ago??? It's a great Mad Hen Primitives design that I found in the Winter Issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects.

So I was sitting in my room hookin' away yesterday and I looked up and WHAT do I see,but 3 wild Turkeys lookin' at me!!!!! Oh cool,that all rhymed!!!
Anyhoo they stopped right in front of my house and the one turkey came up closer to the window and looked right at me!!!! How cool is that and on Thanksgiving Day no less!!!! Personally I think that they came to thank me for eating chili for my lunch yesterday. I know that there's a lot of people who don't like turkey so other things are on their tables besides turkey for their big feast. BUT I bet we won't find many,if any in the US who ate chili yesterday!!!! AND how many people in the US got a personal visit by not one,but 3 turkeys (live ones LOL) yesterday????????
Yes I was alone yesterday. It was my choice. One of the kids would have picked me up to come to their house,but nobody needs mom cryin' in her gravy. I wanted to be alone. It was ok,I just hooked and took down some Fall wreaths. Really shoulda cleaned up the kitchen,but I didn't. Had my Scarlett attitude about that,tomorrow's another day!!! The kids did stop over later though to bring me left overs from their meals Got several hugs from 2 of my grandsons and they also took down all my corn husks and put them in the construction dumpster that's here since there's still building going on. So all that was REALLY nice and I didn't cry!!!!
Well tomorrow's the big day at Notforgotten Farm,Lori's Open House!!!!
I will have to try very hard to restrain myself from calling her every half hour to see if I sold anything LOL!!!!
BTW I'd like to say that I would like to comment on many of your blogs and respond to posts on my own blog, but I can't blogger won't let me and I just don't get it,SHOOT!!!

GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE

All these things are packed up and will be on the way today to Notforgotten Farm for Lori's Christmas Open House this Saturday. Wish I could pack up me and Sissy to go too. See her little head checking things out??? Hope I sell LOTS cause my son Mike picked up the van last nite to be fixed, AGAIN.
I won the award from Ohio Retired Police and Firefighters Board. I will be getting a pension based on John's death being caused by the injury that disabled him. Don't know what I'll be getting yet. It'll be based on half of what he would have gotten at normal retirement if he had not been hurt.
AWARD. Strange word to call it for losing my husband isn't it????
Well Mike just called. He says it will be $1376 plus tax to fix the van. The van that I can't even drive. But if someone ever takes me anyplace,my electric wheelchair goes in it. Told Mike to tell the guy to go ahead and fix it and the van will just have to sit there till I can pay for it. Hope I sell lots at Lori's LOL!!!!
Tomorrow I have to find someone to go pick up my Thanksgiving dinner from the Community Center. I made my time for 5:15 to make sure the kids were off work. So Tuesday I'll eat my Thanksgiving dinner and of course I'll have to share with Sissy. We always have shared Holiday dinners with our dogs. At least my Sissy Girl will be happy.
Well off to count money to see how much I can get together today for the van!!!

WED. NOV. 16th A VERY BIG DAY

Today is the day that there are some people in Columbus,Ohio,I picture them all sitting around a big table, deciding my life. I hadn't said anything before,but right after John died I called the Police and Fire Pension Board in Columbus to tell them like I was supposed to. They told me that they'd send the packet to me that I needed to fill out,because he was disabled and his death was due to his disability. I got the packet,filled it out right away and sent it back with everything they wanted in July. During the summer I called them a few times to check on it,they'd always tell me that it takes awhile and I'll be contacted. In October I decided to call again. The guy on the phone said let me check,then he didn't say anything but hmmm, uh, hmmm, then I'm going to connect you with someone else. Well turns out that they didn't send me the right packet for the monthly death benefit that I'm supposed to get. I was devastated to say the least!!! I could have been waiting till cows flew and still trying to live on $513.99 a month before I would get the money. I called the president of the union and he told me that they really dropped the ball. They finally sent me the right packet and said I had to get it back to them before Oct. 17th or I would be missed for the Nov. 16th meeting. I had to have what they call a Host (he's a Fireman) come here to due all the paper work. I could have NEVER done it all on my own. He was here 2 1/2 hours as we worked on getting all the paper work together. He took it all home,faxed it to them AND mailed it,he said so that they couldn't say that they didn't receive it in time. He also added a very good letter that if you kinda read between the lines he said you better give this to her after what you put her through. While he was here, he asked me,"do you know what a pension is?" I kinda just looked at him blankly,I didn't know what to say. He said a pension is an insurance policy and insurance companies DON'T want to pay you!!! I'm not worried,it's the truth that John's death was way to soon caused by being in that back draft and his retirement years were very very hard for both of us. So they owe me. And as the Host Fireman said,they need to make me whole again. That's really not possible since John's gone now,but they at least need to pay me enough to live on.
Thanks for all the kind words and caring that you send me. It means so much to me cause I'm so alone and sad. But I keep workin'!!! Thank You God for that ability!!!

What will I send?? I don't know!!! Could be some of these primitive tree rugs shown here,could be Santas, could be Snowmen,could be dolls,could be pinkeeps and stitcheries,could be rugs..... I really don't know. I make whatever my heart leads me to make. Soooo that means you'll have to go to the open house to see!!! I told her today that I'd like to have myself crated up with my wheelchair and send myself!!!!

I'd like to thank all the people in Ohio who voted NO on issue 2. I could not believe all the lies that they were able to get away with trying to get people to vote yes. Why am I so concerned about issue 2?? Cause I'm the widow of a Fireman and could easily dispute the lies that they told the people of Ohio. We are SO NOT millionaires as they tried to get people to think. In fact I would show anybody my bank account. Since my income is open to public knowledge I will tell you what it is to prove that voting no was the right thing to do. As a Fireman's widow I net $513.99 pension per month. I actually get $734 gross but my insurance,that issue 2 proponents tried to tell you that we don't pay is what brings me down to my net income. Everyone who has heard what I'm getting is shocked. So thanks again if you voted NO,cause I might have lost more money. I must tell you that I have been fighting for what I am due because of John's death being cause for his being disabled from his job as a Fireman.

My flag flies proudly today for ALL veterans including my husband who was in the Air Force. And a HUGE HEARTFELT THANK YOU to ALL the men & women serving and protecting us today. I am SO PROUD to be an American!!!!!

Well here I sit, Halloween Nite,NO Tricks, No Treats. BUT I got to go to the grocery store yesterday and there IS a chocolate pie all defrosted in the fridge,so I guess there WILL be a treat for me!!! Would anyone like to join me,I'd love the company????
BTW I HIGHLY recommend Marie Callender's pies!!! Whenever I get to go to the grocery store that's my big treat. Yesterday I got 2!!!! They were on sale!!! So far my favorite is the banana cream pie,but then I haven't tried this chocolate one yet!!!
So here's what I've been workin' on,TURKEY RUGS. It's a design from an older Kindred Spirits pattern book. They actually made it as a purse.
One I hooked in a darker more scrappy look and the other in neutral colors of browns and creams.
I think I like the scrappy one best until I look at the neatral one,I don't know.

Ye Ladye Pumpkin

Back when I was a very little girl and my Mom was still alive,I remember the Soaps on TV that she watched. Way back then each Soapie was only on for 15 minutes. Then after I became a wife and mom,I watched the soaps. Sometimes I just listened if I was busy. But it came to be a special time for me. Kids napping,eating my lunch in peace and losing myself in the stories. They became my family!! My favorite has always been "As The World Turns". Everybody who knew me well,knew that ya don't call when it was on because that was Sherry's break time. Lunch and "As The World Turns". I STILL miss it.
Now I call my life, "As Sherry's World Turns". Everyday life is a real challenge. When friends call they get the next episode of "As Sherry's World Turns". Maybe whether they want to or not LOL!!!! Often I've thought about posting about it here,but I'm really not a negative person and I feel people want to go to blogs and see pictures and read funny or good things or learn things. Well maybe I can post a learning thing. Don't eat the unrecognizable frozen food that they give out at the Community Center!!! You can get VERY sick!!! That's what I learned LOL!!!!
I'm selling this rug pattern by Emma Lou Lais,drawn by Barb Carroll. It's JACK JACK & JACK. Thought it was time to let it go,cause I have so many patterns and even though I work constantly, it's all things to sell. This is a BIG rug, 24" X 36" and I'd never get my money back to hook it and sell it. So maybe someone out there can hook it and keep it. It's $38 + shipping. Call It Fall, Call it Autumn, Call it My Favorite Time

I haven't decorated for anything in the years that we lived at that other house.
I may be sad and lonely and my life has become a daily soap opera, but I do love this house and wanted to go back to decorating like I used to. I know John wanted that too. Believe it or not I managed to get those 2 scarecrows put out there with no injuries (to them LOL)!!! Everybody else around here prolly thinks I'm nuts,but the people that come for the open houses here seem to enjoy it. Last week-end I saw a little girl out there in front pointing to my house, and saying, Mommy I want to go in that house!!! I heard her mom say, you can't someone lives there LOL!!! At least she liked it and so do I!!!!
I ALWAYS have such a hard time stopping the Fall and Halloween ideas of what I still want to make. I'm hookin' a rug right now of one of Lori Brechlin's cool needle punch designs.
I also have pumpkins for sale and a table mat. I just put them on my picture-trail if you'd like to go see. And some of my house pictures too!!!

The witch X stitch is a Jenny Hoffman,Country Rustic Primitives pattern. I'm stitching it on osnaburg,one thread over two.
The penny rug is from the magazine Primitive Quilts and Projects. It's a Maggie Bonanomi pattern.
The hooked JOLS are my design. They've been sittin' around for a long time waiting to be finished. Maybe this time is their turn!!!

I'm thinkin' about having some kinda on line garage sale. I don't know if it should be here on my blog or pay the money on my picture trail so I can have more pictures up and have it there.
What do you all think???
No the garage here is STILL not unpacked and the van is still sitting in the driveway. That would really be upsetting to John. I really haven't done anything out there since I broke my foot. The kids don't seem to want to help me unpack because I guess they think I'm not going to be able to afford to stay here. They're nuts though cuz on the income I'm getting right now the only place that Sissy and I could really afford to live is in the van!!!! But I love this house,I'm very comfortable here and I'm going to keep fighting to stay here!!!!
Thought I'd show you just a few of the things I'm working on. Someday maybe I'll get the order of this blogging right!!!!

Last week I showed you the contraption I have to wear on my broken foot,well I've STILL got it. My appointment was Aug. 29th and I knew that I wasn't gonna lose the boot. Dr. said my MS is compramising the healing and affecting the nerves and tissue and that's why it hurts more now than when I broke it. My next appointment isn't until the beginning of Oct. So the big ol boot is still a part of me. Thanks for taking a look at my work!!!!

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING EVERYONE

Yup that's my foot in the picture and yup it's broken.I was a few days short of making it to age 64 without ever having a broken bone. It got broken July 29th and my birthday was August 4th. I think that's pretty good except old bones don't seem to heal as well. It's hurting more now than when I 1st broke it. Ron's gonna be taking me to my orthopedic Dr. tomorrow morning,so guess I'll see what he has to say about it. I'm gonna get buns of steel from luggin' that heavy boot around!!! The problem is it will only be the left bun,the right bun's gonna stay it's 'ol saggy self.
How'd I break it,you ask. Well I wanted to play my CD's,especially my IL DIVO ones. So I had been looking and looking in the still unpacked garage for the box that Mary Jo had packed them all in,continually praying that the box was in there,even though I knew deep down that it was gone. So Mary Jo and I were looking again. She said it's not here he took it. Still not wanting to believe that ALL my CD's were gone,I went back in there to look again after she left. THAT'S when the little travel size suitcase fell down on my foot. Ironically when I told Mary Jo what happened,she said,OH NO,It's my fault!!! She said she saw that case and for a fleeting 2nd she thought to herself,I should move that or it's gonna fall on her!!! So it did!!! I told her not to worry,I've told no medical personel that it was her fault. I actually didn't get confirmation till August 8th that it was broken. Just kept telling myself that it was a bad bruise.
About the missing CD's. Some of you might remember about the guy John found in the newspaper that was supposed to help us empty the other house and stole all that stuff from us??? He apparently stole the box with all my CD's and home movies too. The CD's would be easy to sell at the flea market and he probably through out my home movies. Mike had also been looking for our generator,it's gone too. So I'm well over a $1000 of stuff that the creep has stolen and there's still a few other things that I haven't found yet. But with all of it,it's the CD's and home movies that hurt me the most,they can't be replaced. Of course when Mike called Mr. Creep,he still denies everything and we have no way to prove it. He's gonna get his,for SURE!!!
Now for the rug. After the funeral I got this idea to make John's room my sitting room. It's at the front of the house with a big window to look out of and more natural light to work in. Mike took the hospital bed out and actually sold it for me on Craig's List the next day,and put a chair from my bedroom in there and I had a vintage footstool to put my feet up on. My plan was to use John's antique dresser for hooking stuff. I brought some of the hooking stuff to the room and put it on the floor, since I haven't been able to totally empty John's things. Well that rug kept staring at me, and being discouraged from no sales on all the things I had been working on, I did what I shouldn't have, and picked it up and started hooking. So here it is!!!
How am I doing??? I guess as well as I can. I've got a lot on my shoulders. It was 7 weeks ago yesterday. Thank God for Lori Rippey and Lori Brechlin!!! The poor things seem to be stuck with listening to all my crying jags,but no complaints from them cause they're TRUE friends,I know they're there for me. I just love them!!!!

I don't remember a time that I haven't always had something listed on eBay. But for months now sales have been, can I say crappy. For me selling is not just a choice or a hobby, it's a very real necsessitie, especially now. Yes I do keep things on Etsy, but I've only had one sale there a couple of years ago. Yes I also have a picture trail that I don't do a very good job on keeping it updated. My Dear friend Lori Rippey does very well on her's and we often talk about me doing more with mine. I have a lot to learn about it though, because I didn't set mine up, someone else did.
Where do you all prefer to look at things for sale??? And if you're buying, where do you prefer to buy???
I never stop working and I thank God that I'm at least able to do this.

RIP Lt. Kristoff

my Dear Husband.
I FINALLY won my battle to bring John home. All the equipment was delivered 1st and then the ambulance arrived with John straight from the ICU and the respitory therapist,to teach me how to use all the machines,about 3:00 Friday afternoon.Mike ran to Sears to buy a little door bell that he installed on the wall by John's bed,so that if he needed me and I wasn't in there he could just press the button and the bell would ring in the living room. Ron was there along with Mary Jo & Mike & the nurse who was trying to get 2 pages of meds taken care of.Ron told the kids that he was worried about me doing this alone since they saw me almost falling several times as I was learning everything I had to do and going back & forth to John's room.
I just told them,I'll be OK I just need to slow down and get into my wheelchair 1st instead of just using my cane.
I felt very sad that evening when everyone was gone. John really wasn't talking and had even turned the TV off. I was waiting for Hospice to deliver the narcotics that I needed for him.He really needed the Aderol that would keep him calm and not try so hard to breathe. I put it in a dish of applesauce and fed it to him.Then I put The B-Pap on him and told him that it was nite nite for him. I checked him before I went to bed after 11:30. I got up at 2 a.m. to check him. Something was wrong.His arms where in the same position as the last time I had checked.The machines were still going.He was so swollen I was having a hard time finding a pulse in his wrists or neck,at least that's what I wanted to believe.I kept putting the pulsacs on his finger,but it wouldn't give me a number.I kept trying to rub his chest and call his name.I laid my head on his chest and nothing.I called Hospice and the nurse came to verify what I already knew,but didn't want to believe,he was gone. She called the funeral home and prepared his body for them.It was 5:30 a.m. when they all left.I went to bed till 7:30 a.m.
This morning we had to go to the funeral home to make the arrangements I had written John's obituary.Actually I wrote it in my head and when Mary Jo came to pick me up I asked her to write it on paper as I told it to her.The picture that I'm showing here is the one I chose to be published in the newspaper with the obituary. It's totally him.His face shows the intensity of the 110% he always gave to the job he loved and gave his life for.
His funeral will be VERY tough and emotional,but I'm giving him the send off that he deserves. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7.There will be an Honor Guard of 2 Firemen at attention in full dress uniform the whole time.One at the head of the casket and one at the foot and they will ceremoniously change guards at certain times. There will also be an American flag,to honor John's military service in the Air Force and also the Fire Dept. flag.
The funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Wed. The procession to St. Mary's Church will be the hearse and behind it the fire dept.'s rescue truck that he had a large part in designing. The pall bearers will be 6 Fireman in full dress.
The luncheon will be here where I live at Bud's building where they have a room and an outdoor patio and lawn area with umbrella covered tables set up.Cafe 83,which Bud also owns will cater. Heather,one of Bud's assistants,who's also fast become a very dear friend to me asked me yesterday if she could do this.She'll be coming over tomorrow to discuss the plans.Ever since we moved here the people have been so wonderful to me,even John only got to live here a little over 2 weeks,he loved it here too and I will be inviting all the neighbors. I hope with all my heart that I will be able to stay here.

Believe It Or Not

they almost did it AGAIN. For the 2nd time they almost killed John. This time it was in less than 24 hours and even worse. In all their wisdom and Medicare orders (I'm sure)they sent John to ANOTHER rehab place Friday evening. Shocked?????????
I know I was!!! John called me early Saturday morning,very upset.Said they weren't ready for him there either.I told him OK I'll see what I can do. I called and asked for the Charge Nurse.Well after I had to hear about how tired she was since she had come in to work at 3 a.m. REALLY???? and it was only 7:30 a.m.,said she'd go talk to him. I called Mary Jo,since she lives close to the place and told her to go check on her Dad.She said that they had a nice visit,but that they wouldn't move him into a chair cause his counts were too high.Mary Jo then came to my house to change my sheets and run the sweeper,etc. When she was leaving I said,I'm gonna call Lifecare and check on Dad.I called,said who I was and that I was checking on John.The I get,Oh Mrs. Kristoff,um you need to get to the ER,we've called an ambulance.OK panic mode trying to call Mike and Mary Jo,can't get hold of them!!! Luckily Mike checks his phone often in case I call. I had to wait till his wife found a babysitter and then could come and get me while Mike went straight to the ER.I had to wait for what seemed like forever,so I decide to call Lifecare (it's a rehab hospital,like the other place they sent him)to find out what happened.The Nurse that I talked to said an aide came and got her and said something was wrong with him.She said that when she got to his room his counts were zero and he was blue.She also told me that the same thing had happended Friday night hours after he arrived there and that they called the ambulance,but that John refused to go REALLY???????? REALLY?????? I said to her,don't you realize when his counts are bad he's not lucid!!!!???!!!! She said yes,but I don't think so cause they never even called me that this was happening,if they had I would have been able to talk John into going in the ambulance,but instead they sent the ambulance back only to have them come back to take him a short few hours later. Remember in my last post I said that they found a small pneumonia in his upper left lung that wasn't there BEFORE they sent him out????? Well now it has completely taken over the WHOLE left lung.The x-ray they took when he got to the ER shows the whole lung white now.Oh and the pneumonia that he had in the lower right lung when he went into Icu back in May is STILL there.
Remember my bright idea about bring him home??? Well EVERYBODY fought me on it,Mike,Mary Jo & the Dr. Last wednesday a meeting was scheduled in John's ICU room with Mike,Mary Jo, me and the Hospice nurse.Turns out that they weren't going to give me ANY of the things that I needed to bring him home.The kids were happy because they wanted him to go to Lifecare for therapy so that they could at least get him to a point of being able to sit up and maybe even stand up eventually.John had been at Lifcare last year for rehab and it worked,so that's what they were picturing.Well now they are 100% behind me to bring him home.We can say with our mouths that we know that he doesn't have much longer,but not our hearts.There's so much more that I can tell you about all of this,but I can't even begin to type it all,it's so unbelievable what they've done to him.And do the Dr.'s ever ever call and talk to me???? NO and God forbid that you try to call them cause you can't get past their office people.John's primary Dr. is also my Dr.Sunday I began to fully realize what all this is doing to me physically.I am NOT the important one here,but since he's the one that's always saying that I'm seriously ill,you'd think this Dr. might give me just one little thought and call me to talk about John.
So today I will start all over again to try to get the help I need to bring John home.
I've included some pictures of the fence that I FINALLY succeded in at least getting that done. We both wanted this since we found the house.It's meant to protect and keep Sissy,the 2lb.Yorshireterrorist in.John's been asking about it ever since he went to the hospital.Last Thursday evening,the day the fence was finished,Ron took me,the pictures,AND Sissy to ICU!!!! John was so happy.The hospital room was so hot Sissy was drinking water out of a cup,so when we got home I knew she had to pee,so I put her out on the newly fenced in patio and she promptly jumped through the pickets,peed and jumped back in LOL!!!!!! Well I've got it all blocked now so the little bugger can't do that anymore HA!!!!

that I haven't been here to post in so long.
BUT 1st I'd like to thank all of you wonderful people who have posted here or sent emails. Your VERY kind words and prayers have warmed my heart and meant so much to me,THANK YOU.
Everyday since May 28th when John left here by ambulance something not good has happened. Lots of minor things and somedays way huge major things. I can't possibly type all that's happened,so I'm going to try to condense it into the most major things that have happened in the past week.
A week ago this past Monday I got a call from a hospital Social Worker in the afternoon telling me that they were sending John to a Nursing home that evening.I was pretty shocked about it because NO Dr. had called me and it's not usually normal to take someone straight from ICU to rehab before spending some time on a regular med/surg floor of the hospital.I'm well aware though of what was going on. Since John had been in ICU for so long,I'm sure that the insurance co. was telling the hospital to move him on. I know this for a fact because they did it to me once too.It was becoming just too expensive to keep him in ICU.Never mind the fact that he was too sick,that he can't stand or even sit up and that they had been using a crane lift to put him in a chair for a little bit at a time.Not to even mention that the pneumonia he went in with originally is still there.None the less they were going to "Turf" (a term I learned on the old TV show,ER)him out.John and I were kinda happy though,cause the nursing home is across the road from our house.Even though it's across a pretty busy 2 lane state route,I figured I could make it across in my electric wheelchair,so that I could visit him more often.Unfortunately my kids will seldom take me up to see him.
He arrived at the nursing home Monday evening about 7:30.Tuesday evening I was gonna try to make it across to see him but my neighbor said don't try it because it's too stifling hot out for you.She told me she'd walk me up to get across Wednesday afternoon.My daughter said she'd take me after work.Well I never got to try my daring trip nor did Mary Jo get to take me,because Wednesday the nursing home almost killed John. I got a call from them telling me that John was in respitory distress basically asking me if I wanted them to call an ambulance DUH!!!!!!!
As his family stood around his bed in the ER,we thought we were watching him die.The Dr. was a breath away from putting him back on a ventilator. Everybody in the ER KNEW that the little lady sittin' in the hospital wheelchair,tremoring from head to toe (darn MS) was FURIOUS to put it midly. I asked for a Priest and it seems that one appeared within a minute to give him last rites. The nursing home had left his Co2 level get to 100. Normal is 30-40.His own body was poisoning him to death. Well he made it with out having to be put on the ventilator,for right now,and was put right back in ICU,where he NEVER should have left. This caused him to take 3 steps backwards in his recovery. Now there's a 2nd new pneumonia in his upper left lung and the original one is still in his lower right lung.He's also receiving constant blood trans fusions now.
This past Friday nite I sat and hooked till late and thought.Saturday morning I got up before up before 6:30 a.m. and my decision was made.For the 1st time since he left I was at peace and could pray again. I'm bringing him home!!!! He deserves this and by noon yesterday I had completed everything I needed to do to make that possible. A friend that I went to school with works for New Life Hospice,so I called her.Our Dr. told me Saturday when I told him my decision that he was just concerned that they wouldn't help because John's a code. I told my friend that and she knows that I'm seriously ill too,but she called me back in less than 10 minutes and said that they're giving me EVERYTHING that I need or want and she was the 2nd person that day to volunteer to help me on her own time. I just wish my kids would be as supportive to me,but they've just given me a lot of heartache these past few days.
I won't tell you that I'm not scared to death to do this,because I'd be lying,but John is so happy about coming home,that after being off the week-end she couldn't believe the change in him!!!! I told him that his job is to do his best so that I can get him home. He ate a FULL plate of food yesterday for the 1st time in I don't know how long,because he's been on tube feedings. But now they're taking that star wars O2 mask off of him which is called a B-Pap which he'll be on the rest of his life for short periods of time which then allows him to eat and talk.

I also furiously worked on the big rug that he's seen me work on for so long,so that he could see it. I took pictures to show him but my son thought that we should take the rug to show him. When we got there he was on the B-pap so we have to try to read his lips of what he's trying to say. He mouthed Oh how beautiful and then started patting his chest and saying mine mine. I laughed and said,then write me a check LOL!!!!
As you can see it still needs to be steamed and bound which is going to be a VERY big job for me,but I'll get 'er done!!!!

I'd also like to publicly thank Lori Rippey,Lori Brechlin and Marte Bordeaux for being their NEVER ending support and for being proud of me for the decision I've made to bring John home for whatever time he has left. They are my family and I love them.

GOOD MORNING

I'm finding it hard to type cause I'm a 1 finger typer and the MS has kicked up causing my hands to tremor,but I'll manage. I felt the need to update because of the very kind comments here and emails about my last post.
I got up today at 6:15 and thought,why are you getting up so early,but less than 10 minutes later the hospital called. John took a turn for the worse and they told me that he had to be put on a ventilator.
Yesterday morning the hospital called our son Mike and told him that he needed to bring me up to the hospital. So he told me that Mary Jo and him were coming to get me at noon. My friend Marlene had also come to do some work here,unpacking and organizing.
When I got to his room the oxygen mask that they had on him looked like something from Star Wars. His nurse was with him and when Mary Jo wheeled me in,she said there's what you wanted!!!
I felt so good that I was able to tell him that I got the other house emptied (well mostly Ron did). I said,we're DONE with that place!!! He manged to say,really? and he started to cry. I knew it would make him happy and releived.
3 of our grandsons and their Dad and Mike's wife came in too.But all the beepers kept going off,so the nurse came and said that there were too many people and he was getting too excited. When John and I were alone he told me that if he had to be put on a ventilator he wanted to do it because he wants to live and come home,but that if he had to come back to the contraption that he had on,he wanted to die.
When I called the hospital last nite,his nurse told me that he was doing good and that there was some improvement.I guess through the nite he took a turn and the Dr. said he had to be put on the ventilator. Our Dr. had called me the other day to check on me and see if I felt like he did about trying to bring him back by putting him on the ventilor and giving his lungs a chance to rest and then after a few days the family would have to make a decision.
I'm going to be 64 and I've been with John since I was 16. Yesterday may have been my last time to talk to him. I feel so lost. It's all in God's hands now

In Memoriam...

to the brave men and women and their families who served and gave their lives and those that are protecting us today,I Thank You with all my heart. I am proud to be an American!!!!!
With sadness I must tell you that John was taken to the hospital early yesterday morning and is in Intensive Care. Yes it is pneumonia AGAIN. I KNOW that this time it's a direct result of this moving. It has been WAY too hard on the both of us,as I'm able to do less and less. BUT we are STILL very thankful and happy to be in this house. It's just that we can't really relax and enjoy it with the other house still hanging over our heads. Yes it's been a month and we're still not completely moved out. WHY??? No help. In my last post I told you that John had found an ad in the newspaper for a guy to do it that he wanted me to call. I really didn't want to,but I had no other answers. Well it started out good,but I'm sorry to say that he ripped me off,no actually he stole from me several hundred $$'s worth of stuff that he was "honestly",so he said,going to pay me for. I called him Friday nite,asked him how he could go to sleep at nite knowing he ripped me off. He hung up on me. Guess we were an easy hit,2 desperate sick old people. Well,it's not me who will pay for this in the long run. I will stay the trusting honest person that I am.
After the ambulance left I called our son Mike and he went to the ER as I had no way there or back. I can't be on my feet much anymore without my wheelchair and right now there's no way to get it in the van. I had other phone calls to make and I guess I crashed,I just couldn't stop crying. I decided to call one of the Firemen who's been a Dear Friend for decades. Of course he had no clue of what we've been going through. I knew that there would be Firemen who would help,but I wouldn't say anything to John because I knew he would say no,darn pride. Well it's all in my hands now and I'm taking over. Ron told me that he has a trailer and that he would come over and get me to go to the other house. Because it's a Holiday the guys would have plans,but he knew that he'd be able to get at least 6 guys on Tuesday that would be happoy to help. But once we got there,he was very surprised,because he said there's not all that much here there's no reason it couldn't be done. I said I know,but it's a matter of hands & legs there to do it. He called me @ 7:30 this a.m. and he was already at the other house,but he couldn't get in. Mary Jo has the key and apparently she accidently locked the door from the garage into the house when we left there last nite. I had given Ron the garage door opener,so he was able to at least work in the garage and then he'll go back there after Church. My kids say that they don't know what they're doing today. Mike seems to be very mad at me cause he doesn't understand why I'm worried about the house.He doesn't understand how we feel with this other house hanging over our heads. Before the ambulance took John I asked him what he wanted me to do,and he said keep working.I'm keeping it a secret from him that I've called in reinforcements. I KNOW in my heart that the best thing I can do for him is to get this done and when he comes home,be able to tell him IT'S DONE and I've sent the keys back!!!!
I hope you all have a GREAT start to summer this Holiday week-end and I apologize for babbling on!!!!!

GUESS WHAT?????

I'm not 30 and healthy!!!! DUH!!!!
My body rudely reminded me of that for this past week by letting me know that I was doing way more than I should have been. I ignored all the near falls and just kept going,not a good idea. So out came the wheelchair. Also in my happiness and excitement about the house,I forgot that Spring is my worst time of year. We've had rain and thunderstorms everyday that affect my brain tumor. The barometric pressure changes and causes pain and pressure in my head. But I'm making progress,I was able to take a shower yesterday!!! I can't just sit here and do nothing,so I've been hooking up a storm!!!! Not on my big rug though. It's gotten pretty heavy,a little too much to deal with right now,so it's been lots of small rugs for selling.
The other house STILL isn't empty yet!!! John found an ad in the paper for a guy to clear out houses for barter or negotiating,so I called him. He's been workin' on it and I've been giving him lots of things. Including my much loved vintage 70" round drop leaf table with 6 chairs and a matching bench. I think when he's done he's going to owe me money!!! I don't know how much is left since I haven't been able to go over there in a week. John goes,but he really can't do much with only 1 hand free because of carrying the oxygen bottle in the other hand. I'll be so glad when that place is empty and we can be done with it!!! The garage here is getting pretty full of stuff,so this "sicky" stuff has to stop so that I can start going through it all and put it away!!!
Hopefully my next post will be pictures of all the things I've been hooking,while I can't do anything else!!! But the pieces all need to be steamed and that involves standing which hasn't been happening.
Oh,one more thing!!! The other morning when I got up,John said,after you pour your coffee go look out the front door. When I looked there was 2 ramps that had been put there. One for me to get out the front door and one to get off the porch!!!! These areas are step downs,only a few inches tall,but too much for my electric wheelchair to get down. But NOW I can!!!!! They were made and placed there by one of the guys who works here and we didn't even see him do it!!!! I thank God everyday that we were able to move here!!!!

Actually I think we died about 4 days ago but we just don't have the energy left to lay down and give up the ghost!!!!

What's wrinkled,black and blue all over and can be blown down by the gentle breeze of a ceiling fan?????? ME!!!!!!!

Oh SO many things to tell,but I don't have the energy to type it all LOL!!!!
Believe it or not I have been hooking too through all this moving. I can only be on my feet for so long un packing and then I have to get in my chair. I can't just sit here and do nothing so I've been hooking hit or miss mat rugs with mug rugs to match. One set is all hooked and I'm working on a 2nd set.

John hasn't been doing so well even with his oxygen cranked up all the way he just can't do anything. The workmen here have been unbelievably kind to us!!! They just can't seem to do enough for us!!!!
BUT we really really need help!!! Our kids worked their butts off last week-end and Monday too when we moved in,but they do have their jobs to go to. This week-end they'll be working their butts off again!!!! There's SO much stuff at the other house that the movers couldn't move. I wish that we could just be done with that other house this week-end,but if I can't find some more help,I don't know.
Today I'm gonna ask one of the jack of all trades, workmen out here if I can hire him to do some stuff,like putting up curtain rods,putting my porch set together,that was delivered Monday in a great big box,and help John finish putting his computer desk together,etc. I'm trying to keep John from doing ANYTHING since he's not doing well and there's a lot of pneumonia going around.
Here's also an update picture on my rug,that I took I don't know either a week or 2 ago.
I do have to tell you all though that I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new house and after MANY very tough years,a hole in my heart has been filled!!!!!

We got the house We got the House!!!!! Doin' the HAPPY DANCE here,we'll from my chair LOL!!!!!! The owner,Bud and his accountant are THE nicest guys!!! In fact Bud seemed surprised that we didn't know that he had already accepted our offer.
He said to me,When do you want to move in??? I said TODAY and he said OK!!! He started saying,give her the key,but the Realtor came in at the end and said no they don't do things that way,we have to wait till the date on the paper to get the key. Bud's the boss,but he hired the Realtor to sell his houses. So Bud told me,that's OK his assistant is there everyday,she'll let you in when ever you want. Bud also told his people to give me whatever I want!!!! AND he is!!!! So they'll be working on all the extras I want next week!!!!!
Bud also made me The Mayor of Northborough!!!!! I'm making John my Safety service Director. He'll have to make sure people follow the rules,like not letting their garbage cans sit out. They don't have any rules yet about storm doors and I want one so Bud said that whatever I want will be the standard for all the other houses.
So not only am I The Queen, I am now The Mayor of Northborough LOL!!!!!!!!! SO COOL!!! This is going to be VERY hard to pack up and move,John and I are only good on our feet for about 4 minutes LOL!!!! I think we're going to have movers move all the big stuff on May 2nd and then work on the other stuff with the kids and get a sale set up too!!!
It's been several years of a long hard path that's finally led to HOME!!!!

GOOD MORNING!!!
Fi nally got the other Mr. Fritz finished!! He's been on the waiting list for awhile,but now he's done in all his glory and listed on ebay!!!

THE HOUSE: Turns out that we have one more hoop to jump through. The investor (owner) of the development and his accountant want to meet us in person. The owner may or may not be there,because he winters in Florida.We call them Snow Birds here.
Anyhoo we have to wait till Tuesday,because the accountant is very busy since taxes are due Monday. Last Tuesday I did 2 hours of negotiating for the things I wanted on the owner's offer to us. Everything that I wanted was changed on the original papers,including an extra $900 that had been added to the purchase price. That's where I started because I had 2 papers of proof. I may not understand perfectly all the fancy legal words and the where as's and where fors,but I'm a pretty good talker and negotiator. I swear if they took out all the legal fancy words babble these 16 pages of the contract could probably be brought down to 4 or 5 pages. So Wed. we had to go back to the realtor's office to sign the corrected papers in front of a Notary. Then John got the bank check for our down payment and the Realtor came and picked it up. I didn't think we here anything Thursday,because the Realtors,a husband and wife team,take Thursday off. So when I got up Friday morning my heart was just pounding,NOT good for me!!!! So he called in the morning and said that they've "basically" accepted the offer but they want to have this meeting. He said,think of it as a job interview. Oh JOY!!!! I said,can we start packing?? He said,well I didn't say that. LOL He NEVER gives me an inch!!!! But in the papers the owner had put down that we would take possession May 1st. That's pretty close!!!!
This house was supposed to be mine almost 6 years ago and it's been standing there empty,since it was built waiting for me. The reason there's been so much hoop jumping to get it is because it's a land contract due to our bankruptcy we have to wait 2 years to get a mortgage,which will be this Fall.The last several years have been a tough road to hoe as you may have read on my previous older posts. BUT I've never lost my optimism and never will. This house will finally be a life for us!!!!

Soon as I saw this free doodle from Robin of Bird In The Hand Primitives,I could hardly wait to adapt it to a hooked rug. Thank You Robin!!!
I had another rug to finish 1st before I could get to this one.
I wish wool colors would show up better in my pictures. I used a really drab brown on the background that has very thin lines of navy and it just doesn't show up as olde looking as it does in person.
I was happy with it when I took it off the frame. I think it looks really primitive and antiquey. I had to name it "Little Red Pony" rug.
I had also bought Robin's little doodle pattern booklet and I've adapted one of those doodles too,that I'm hooking now.
I have listed "Little Red Pony" on ebay.

Good Sunday Morning Everyone!!!
I just finished hooking this rug yesterday. Got it steamed and listed on ebay.
It's a needle punch pattern by Brenda Gervais of With thy Needle & Thread,that I adapted to hook and add some Sherry touches to it.
After I listed the rug on ebay,I couldn't decide what to work on. God knows there's a ton of stuff here that needs finishing!!! It's easiest for me to sit in my chair with my legs up,so I decided to pull the floor frame over to my chair and work on my BIG rug till bedtime. In fact, once I post this I think I'll work on it a little more. Not time for another picture yet though!!!

Good Morning!!!
Anybody out there a fan of Army Wives on Lifetime???
I've been a fan since it started,I think it's 3 years now.
So anyhoo Sunday nite when it came on,I was working as usual hooking a rug. In the beginning of the show it was makin' me do a little sniffeling,but I could still keep hooking. Well it wasn't long before I was just plain sobbing!!! Going through kleenex after kleenex!!! The Cornell's the one that got me. He's so tough and stoic that he barely even cracks a smile,but when he started crying,I really lost it. Ya just can't hook and sob your eyes out at the same time!!! If you haven't seen the show it's on Sunday nites at 9. It's a very good show and very well written.
Yup you have seen this rug before. Well not this one cause this is my 2nd one I've hooked. One of my very good customers had seen the 1st one I designed on my blog,and asked if she could order one. I'm so excited for her to have it because I used the same wools that I used on many of the pieces that she already has from me. It'll be on it's way to her next week.
Now for Mr. Fritz!!! I've been making him for years. He's from an out of print Konfetti's pattern,but done my way. When I did the 1st one for some reason I just thought he looked like he should be called Mr. Fritz. I've hooked many and all of them different,but he's always still Mr. Fritz. As for the flower he's holding,I've also been hooking these for years. When my sister died,that's all I did for quite awhile,sit and hook these flowers. I've used them in many ways,but for Mr. Fritz I always make them into a pin,that he's more than happy to share with you if you'd like to wear it. He's listed on ebay right now. I have another waiting to be sewn,but I'm also hooking another rug. And nope I haven't worked on my big rug lately. Just been working on things to sell!!!

No Rest For The Weary!!

I am working for that sweet little house pictured over there on the right!!!!
There's so many things around here in various stages of completion that you'd think 2 people were working here. Plus listing other things that I don't want to move to the new house. Those Dr.s orders everyday naps aren't working so well either!!! I'm tired,but if I do lay down I'm thinking about things to make and things to do,so I can't fall asleep. Oh well,I guess at least I lay down and rest for awhile.
John goes to the new house on Sundays. I don't go with him,not that I don't want to,I just don't want to get worn out doing that and not keep working. When he got home last Sunday,he told me that there's a sign up on it now that say's Sale Pending. I got all excited,he didn't understand,so I told him,that means it's off the market,so things must be going well. Now he walks around here and every so often he'll just say,"Sale Pending" LOL!!!!

OFF Time Hooking

This is the BIG rug that I mentioned a few posts ago. The title of this post,OFF Time Hooking means that my idea was to work on this rug a little at a time between working on things to sell,like I should be doing. I keep it on my floor frame next to my chair. Some mornings,I'll be looking over at it and I hear it saying,hook me hook me and before I know it,it's bedtime and the only thing I've worked on is this rug!!! Yesterday was one of those mornings and the only way to shut it up was to pull it over and start hooking!!! So I'm hookin' away and my buddy,Lori Rippey called. After talkin' and hookin' for awhile I told her,time to move the rug to a new spot. She says,oh take a picture since you'll have it off the frame!!! But I never take it off the frame when I move it,it's too big and getting too heavy. I just usually lift and move a little at a time. I said OK I'll take it off and take a picture. I thought,it would be kinda nice to see it,since I haven't seen it either off the frame,I just keep hooking. I laid it out and said to Lori,oh I like it!!! Worked on the vase area yesterday,till bedtime of course and as much as I'd like to finish that part up,I've GOT to work on some things to sell.Shut Up rug Stop calling me!!!! I'll show more pics down the road as more gets finished. Boy do I ever dread steaming and binding it!!!!

I think I set a record for myself for hooking a rug!!! I drew this one up Friday afternoon and finished hooking it Sunday afternoon about 3:00. Then steamed it and photographed it and layed down for awhile,cause I was pooped.
John had told me Saturday that he planned to go look around at the new house on Sunday. I told him that I had too much work to do,finishing the rug and work on binding the rabbit rug,but boy when he left I sure did feel a tug to go with him,but I was still in jammies hookin' and I didn't want to get myself worn out and not finish the rug. The Realtors are there on the week-ends with the houses open,but they've told me that if I want to go there during the week to just tell them and they'll meet us. I won't bother them for that since they're there on the week-end. I'm feeling very protective now though,I don't want people going through OUR house!!! They tell me that things are going very well with us buying this house. I should have been there almost 6 years ago. But no matter how hard you pray God knows best and it's in HIS time. Usually we don't know why,but this time I can come up with lots of reasons why we had to wait till this time and I know it's going to work out!!!!

NEW NEW NEW!!!!!

I just recently finished this rug and have it listed right now on ebay. Wasn't so easy to list because I love it!!! It's an antique chalkware rabbit,that's really a needle punch design by Jan Goos of Goos Nest. I bought the pattern last year because I thought it could be a really neat hooked rug and I think I was right. I hooked it to be 16" X 20" which is a great size for a table or the floor. One of the pictures that I took for my auction was on the floor in front of the open door of one of my antique cupboards and it really looked nice there.
I was actually out of the house on both Saturday and Sunday this past week-end!!!!!
That's more than I've been out in the past 6 months!!! Which is a good thing cause usually something happens to me when I do go out!!! We had to pick up my perscriptions for my pain meds and Vitamin D. Yup I have to have a scrip for Vitamin D because it's 50,000 units once a week. And the Percocet has to be a written scrip every month because it's a contolled substance. The REALLY REALLY sad thing is that we have to go through this rig-a-ma-row every month to get them and my daughter tells me they're all over at my grandson's middle school for a buck a piece. Isn't that sad??? WHY do these kids want to take these!!!!?????!!!!
Well anyhoo I digress,on with the rest of the story. There's a Dollar store next to the drug store and I wanted to go there cause I had a bunch of stuff I needed to get. So John dropped me off there and went on to the drug store to wait for my meds. He handed me $40,that's enough for the Dollar store RIGHT???? WRONG!!!! She rang up $60 !!!!!!! OH NO!!! She said,what do you want me to take out??? Well nothing!! I said I have to go out and get some more money from my husband. He wasn't out there yet!!!! I go back in the store,the line behind me has gotten very long and from the looks on their faces,they're none too happy with me and I'm ready to burst into to tears from embarrassment and pain cause I only had my cane and could hardly stand any longer. Then this wonderful,sweet black lady in the line reaches out $20 to me and says here take this,you look like an honest lady,I say yes,I am. Ready to burst into tears again from her extreme act of kindness,I pay my bill,leave my things in the store,tell the kind lady that I'll be right outside the door,waiting for my husband to come. FINALLY John got there when the lady just finished putting her things in her car and was bringing the cart back and John came. Got the $20 from him and had a buck in my pocket so I gave that to her too. God Bless Her!!! I have lived my life with the theory that what you do for others comes back to you and whether it does or not you're still blessed with the wonderful feeling that that you were able to help someone. I KNOW all this to be fact,cause no matter how bad that things have been,I have been Blessed more times than I can possibly ever count!!!!
Now for the reason that I was out on Saturday and Sunday I have found us a wonderful place to live and a life!!!! There will be more on this as I work hard on making it all happen!!!!

I want to list bunches of primitive goodies that I have in anticipation of moving. It's just that it takes lots of time,which takes me away from working on more things to sell. Wish there were 3 of me and at least ONE of them be HEALTHY to get all the things done that I want to do!!!
Yesterday I worked on enlarging a needle punch pattern that I want to hook. Took 2 X's to get it to a size that I think will work for hooking. It needs to be put on red dot and then on my backing fabric,and then get hooking. It's going to be a black chalkware style rabbit.
BUT what did I do instead???!!!???
I put a rug on my floor frame that I bought about a year ago that's supposed to be for me. Well once I had it on the frame I knew exactly the colors that I wanted to hook the HUGE tulip in. It's about the size of a small rug,that's just the tulip part of it!!! This rug is from Wooly Woolens and is 42 1/2" X 32 1/2" BIG!!!! The idea was to work on it a little bit at a time. DID I do that!!!???!!! OF COURSE NOT!! Couldn't help myself,I hooked on it all day till a point that I was very tired and needed to get to bed,but proceeded to hook a little more.Now since it's sitting right here next to me,I want to pull it over to me and start hookin' again. Somebody STOP me I'm supposed to be working on things to sell,NOT this huge rug!!!!

Got him finished yesterday!!! I like the brown wool roving for his tail much better than the off white. Not so sure that I'll be in a hurry to do the beading technique again though!!!
So he's listed on ebay now. I also listed my OLD HEN rug that's based on a needle punch pattern by my buddy Marte of boggy*creek*primitives.
Nuttin's on the frame right now cause I was so busy finishing the rug,getting things listed,and I had to sew the backing on a chair pad so I can get it mailed out today. Late nite again!!! But I did take a lay down break in the afternoon. I did cut some wool last nite for a rabbit rug that I designed years ago for the stores. And then I looked at the clock and thought,are you crazy,it's late,just turn off the Ott light,eat your cheese and wheat thins and GO TO BED!!!!!

OPINIONS WANTED!!!

Well this is what's on the frame now. It's a needle punch pattern by Wendy of Pineberry Lane that I adapted,with Wendy's kind permission,to be a rug.
I'm trying to hook it in a way that doesn't scream Spring,but a primitive rug to be kept out year round. I'm also trying a beading technique around the edge,that I'll say is a bit of a challenge. Ya sure can't do speed hooking on it!!!!
Now here's what I'd like to have your opinions on. Yesterday I hooked his tail with an off white wool roving and today I'm thinkin' that I think it looks too bright that's with the other colors. Yup,thinkin' more about that tail needs to come OUT!!! I'm gonna see if I have any dark brown roving.When I did shows I used to use the brown for my doll's hair a lot,so maybe I still have some!!!! OK then I think that's settled LOL!!!! But I STILL welcome your opinions!!!!!
Since I sold that other chair pad,I hooked another one that's listed on ebay right now iffin' you'd like to take a closer look!!!!

OFF THE FRAME!!!!!

I actually finished it last week on Wed. nite!!!
I didn't feel up to steaming it on Thursday sooo I drew up a chair pad and started hookin'!!!! The chair pad got sold pretty much as soon as I finished it.
FINALLY on Saturday I decided that I HAD to get the rug steamed and listed on ebay.
SOooooo I put the biggest Olfa cutting board they make on the floor,there was no way I could use the ironing board cause the rug's too big. Anyhoo I have this cutting board since they 1st came out with them and it's already warped,so the heat wouldn't hurt it. I put a thick towel on it,plugged in the iron with an extension cord,wet a towel to cover the rug. THEN it was, just how in the hell do I get down on the floor???? Hire the handicapped they're fun to watch LOL!!!! With much difficulty I finally got on the floor and with more difficulty couldn't quite find a way to be half ways comfortable. Then I needed a kleenex,with MORE difficulty I tried to get up!!!! Well my right leg,which is the worst one,didn't want to work!!! I SURE wasn't going to get down on the floor again!!! THEN the light bulb lit up!!!! FINALLY!!! Put the whole thing on the peninsula part,DUH!!!! I've done that before,don't know why I didn't do it this time,brain fart I guess!!!
So I've gotten my rugs bound and got my Xstitch sampler framed and last nite drew up another chair pad like the one pictured here,that I sold. Also got the X stitch sampler and an antique printers draw listed on ebay.

STILL on the Frame!!!

I had hooked this primitive star hanger BEFORE I started the special order heart rug and the heart 'n hand rug. So I thought it was time to take a break from hooking and get this star sewn. I stuffed it lightly with wool snippets and put a hanger on it with a rusty pin. It's on ebay right now if you like to take a look. This is a progress picture from my last post,what's on the frame. Well as you can see it's STILL on the frame!!!!! I hook and I hook everyday,mostly all day and go to bed late. OY do I ever NEED a massage on my neck and shoulders!!!! I have degenerated discs in my neck from 2 whiplashes. You'd think my 3 a day percocet might help,but no!!! Well I've always said,we must suffer for our art,LOL!!!!

ON THE FRAME

Well I thought I'd take a minute and show you what I'm workin' on now. This one went on the frame Sunday nite after the Heart 'N Hand one came off and got listed on ebay. Well,not immediately!! There was a couple hours or so getting it resized,which I messed up a couple of times and wasted LOTS of ink and paper,and getting it on red dot and THEN on the backing. It's a needle punch pattern by Brenda Gervais.
Tuesday I had to put it aside and tell myself not to touch it till I got other stuff done. So I was a good girl and got the binding on another rug and my name tags on it and a hooked hanging heart and all packed up to go out to the lady that won them. That worked out perfectly cause I had the box out there to be picked up and received the money order for them at the same time,YEAH!!! Then I sewed and stuffed the hooked bowl filler hearts and got them listed on ebay. Didn't even take my nap!!! THEN that nite I could finally get back to my hooking!!! But then I didn't want to stop hooking and was up till 12:30,when myself said,you better stop hooking and get to bed!!!!
I'm also showing you a pic of the hearts that are on ebay right now. Once again I'm not happy with the pictures!!!
That rug is calling my name,getting louder and louder...hook me hook me HOOK ME!!!!

JUST OFF THE FRAME!!!

So ater I finished the Folk Hearts rug, I immediately drew this one and started hookin'!!!! I just pulled the last loop this morning,got it steamed photographed and listed on ebay. If only the colors would show up better. The hand and the half circles around the rug look white and they're SO NOT white. The half circles are kinda a tan and cream plaid and the hand is a different tan and cream plaid with flecks of gold. I'm definately NOT a photographer!!! But wools just don't take good pictures. Even on line they look so different when you're buying them and SO much better when you get them. I got my wool samples from Betsy yesterday and now that I've actually seen the samples and the way some that I had considered but decided against look in person,I really want them now.
I re-sized another needle punch pattern today that I have to put on red dot so I can start hookin'!! I also FINALLY steamed a set of hooked heart bowl fillers and started to sew the backing on. BUT I probably will stop with the hearts and get this other rug drawn up. I just HAVE to have something on the frame!! But I didn't take my nap today and I'm feelin' tired. Wish there were two of me ,the other one healty LOL, cause there's always so many things that I want to make and often when I'm working on one thing I'm thinking up another!!!
BTW I got the nicest email from Marge,the lady that asked me to design a rug for her and Folk Hearts is hers. She LOVE LOVE LOVES it,it's her and just the write colors,THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! And there were a few other things in the email too,made me get all teary,I'm such a moosh!!! What a GREAT feeling to literally put your heart into something and know how happy it made her to have it!!!

FOLK HEARTS RUG

This is where I've been all this time that I haven't posted,working on this rug!!!
I got an email from a lady who had won one of my hooked penny candle mats and she asked if I take orders. Once in a great while I do,but if I do I become obcessed with getting it done and can't do anything else. She said she wanted a rug with hearts on it and to not stress myself out about it,if she didn't have it for this Valentine's,God willing she'd have it for next.
I had a few things on my frame,hearts and such,so I finished up the last heart,got my backing out,my fiberglass cutting board that I put on my lap when I draw a rug,and a bunch of my hearts that I cut out of mylar and just started drawing. Completely freehand and no measuring,just eyeballing it. Then I immediately started to hook!!! I wanted to use different reds in the bigger hearts,so there's prolly about 9 or 10,I don't know,I lost count LOL!!! So I hooked and hooked and this past saturday I finished!!! I can't stand very long,so I didn't steam it till Monday and that's when it made it's debut. There was never a size or price agreed upon,she just told me,whatever I thought. When I sent here the pictures and price Monday nite,I held my breath waiting to here back from her.Well it didn't take very long for her to write back and say that she totally loved it. YEAH!!!! I'm still binding it,but I have the 1st go around done,so I'll finish the last today. I also have to bind another rug that just sold on ebay and there's a rug on my frame that's been going well. And there's also the other hooked pieces that I put aside to do this rug,except for one heart that I finished sewing and sold on ebay last nite.
So that's why I haven't been here lately,it's been hook,hook,hook except for sleeping (that afternoon nap I'm supposed to take)and the occasional eating!!!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR!!!!

Well at least on my hooking LOL!!!!! Shoot,why am I laughing??? Oh well,anyhoo I thought I'd post some pictures of things I've hooked lately and put on ebay.As always if you'd like a better look you can click on my ebay button over there on the right and I thank you.
I thought that this past Monday that finally the world was gonna get back to pre Holiday mode,wrong again!!!
All day Monday I kept thinkin' yeah,House will be on tonite!!!! I listed one of my hooked heart make-dos. The other one was ready to list too,but I was feeling kinda tired and it was almost time for House,so I decided to quit and list the other one Tuesday. OK 8:00 YEAH time for House!!! NO NO NO it's a rerun!!!! How could they do that to me???? Don't they know that I have no life,SHOOT!!!!! Also on New Year's day I thought,well at least Oprha's new OWN network was starting and I could see some new shows there!!! Well,WRONG again!!! I gotta stop thinking!!! So far she's just been re-running the same show over and over. It was OK to watch it ONCE,but NOT over and over and over.....

Also lately I've gotten many new followers!!!! I'm so HAPPY about that!!! I'm actually pretty boring,considering that I very seldom can get out of the house. Hells bells I haven't been out since my wonderful trip to the Simple Goods show and that was way back in the beginning of November!!! Now I can say last year!!!

I've been thinking today about a very special New Years Eve back in the 80's. I was dressed in a beautiful winter white sweater that buttoned down the front with pearl buttons,winter white pants and shoes that matched. I was gettin' down with my bad self shakin' my booty at Uncle Vic's Nite Club. And I went downstairs to the Mardi Gras bar for a special hello.
Ah what a difference today!!!! Except for just gettin' up a little bit ago from nap time,I've been hookin' all day and I'll be gettin' back to it as soon as I finish here till bedtime.
There were some other pictures that I wanted to put up,but I couldn't seem to stop hooking long enough to set things up and take them.

I decided to use some very old roving that I have to hook his beard. I really like how it looks.
Is there anyone else out there who doesn't have a tree and not doing anything this night before??? Or that Christmas makes you feel sad??? I have enjoyed looking at blogs and picture trails of everybody's decorating and reading about people's plans to celebrate Christmas.Before my body went to pot,you could take a tour of my house inside and out of all the decorating I did LOL!!!
I have to think that there must be other people out there that feel sad. Is there??
Since Christmas 1957 when I was 10,there's always been a sadness in my heart that I've never gotten over,but never let anyone else see,even on the other 364 days of the year.My mom had been sick and that Christmas night my mom became delirious. My sister (she's gone too)and I were crying in our bedroom and my mom kept saying over and over,save a nickle for my flowers.My dad (he's gone too)took her to the hospital and she was gone the next day.I don't remember at all what I did. Being a kid,did I play with new Christmas toys,I don't know. All I remember is that when they took me to that dark old funeral home and I saw her,I screamed and cried and wouldn't go back in that room for the 3 days of the showing.That's how they did it back in those days.We had a big snowstorm then too,but I remember the very long line of cars going to the church and then the cemetary.Lots of people knew my mom and dad and they were very social.Very often they'd get dressed up,my mom in a beautiful dress with a full swirling skirt,and they'd go dancing at the Polish Club or the American Legion.
She was 39 years old and died from a brain tumor.My sister said that she kept telling the Dr. that she had it,but you know how well Dr.s listen to women.He told her to get a hobby.She insisted and kept telling him,also telling him that her mother died of a brain tumor,at 39.Well the autopsy showed that it was a brain tumor,very large and even back then they could have operated because unlike mine,which is the same type of tumor,hers was in a place where they could have removed it.
So anyway there's not all the hoopla that there used to be.We just can't do it all anymore. John went to bed at 9,he's there most of the time now.
AND I guess the powers that be at the TV stations don't seem to think anybody's watching TV!!! There's not diddly on,not even on FA LA LA LA LIFETIME that I haven't seen 50 times!!!
Oh well,maybe some will envy me,cause I'll be hooking!!!!

I decided to put these ornie/ peg or cupboard hangers for sale on my blog.

I used praire cloth to stitch the little sampler on,then I walnut dyed them. The little pillows they're attached to with buttonhole stitching are made from soft flannel check homespun as are the hangers. The hangers are sewn on with antique buttons and there's a large rusty jingle bell sewn on the bottom. I stuffed the pillows very flat. They're approx. 3 3/4" X3 3/4".

Here's a quicky post,Desperate Housewives is on!!! We're under a Winter Storm warning,COOL!! I was being busy busy workin on stuff today!!! I have another pinkeep/pillow done that's a pattern by Pineberry Lane. I have to sew the bells on the corners yet. I really wanted to get it listed tonight,BUT I had to lay down for awhile and now it's too dark to take pictures. I also have an olde Santa in my head. Got his body done and out of my head,so maybe tomorrow for him too!!

I wanted to show you a rug I hooked,that's a design by Kindred Spirits and a pinkeep/pillow that I just love cause it REALLY looks olde. It's stitched on 27 count with one thread over 2 and it's also by Pineberry Lane.

"JACK FROST"

"JACK FROST" is a pattern by my buddy Lori Brechlin. I actually punched him the year before last, I think. Then I had hand sewed it to the center of a piece of black wool. And that's where I stopped cause I just couldn't decide how I wanted to finish it,so it was left in waiting. So Sunday I got it out and decided that I just had to finish it. I stared at it for awhile and then it hit me,I'll make it into a bag!!! It would already be lined since It had been sewed on the black wool. It felt great to have it finished,finally!!! I listed it on ebay last nite.

I have so many things that I'm working on and still so many ideas of things to make for Christmas,but time is running out. I'd like to decorate,but everything is such a mess and the trees and other stuff are down the dreaded basement,which means a difficult trip down those steps!!! AND once I get down there I'm not so sure that I can manage to get the tree upstairs. AND then there'd be another trip down to get decorations. Oh Well. Besides the immediate thing for today is to try to drag the garbage out to the street. John has pneumonia again and the Dr.'s trying to keep him out of the hospital. He got one of those huge shots in the but today and do a huge increase of the steroids he takes everyday. This has been going on for 2 weeks now.

Well back to work or a nap,don't know which one will win!!!

Oh almost forgot,something REALLY good happened today!!! I won Betsy's wool give away,YEAH for me!!!!!

IT'S SNOWING in OHIO!!!!

It's REALLY snowin' here today!!! In my area this looks like it's going to be the 1st real snow. There's been a few flurries lately but this time it's beginning to really cover the ground and pile up. I think snow is one of the most beautiful things there is,especially at nite when it sparkles like millions of diamonds!!! There are people who'd like to smack me when I say that!!!! They say,sure you don't have to drive in it LOL!!!! Anyhoo got some new wool last week and couldn't resist hooking. The funny thing is that I didn't actually use the new wool except for what I used on the snowman. I just got my monks cloth out,put a piece in my Grubers hoop,drew a circle and drew this design freehand. He was going to have a feather tree,but then I decided not. I didn't want him to look too Christmasee. Back in the day when I decorated everything that didn't move for Christmas,I always thought the house looked nekked after Christmas was put away. So one time I decided that after Christmas was when all the snowmen should come out!!

So Needless to say those items you say in the last post have yet to be fixed or finished!!! AND now I have another rug and another stitchery goin'!!!! BTW the OTT light is GREAT!!!! And after 3X's we got the right one and this one also works!!! Haven't been sweating my head off the past few nites!! The magnifier is a little difficult to position right next to my chair and to stitch I kinda have to stay in one position. Also I keep hitting it when I bring the thread up. Last nite I stitched a little bit with my cheater glasses and the Ott light on. I'm stitching 1 thread over 2 on 28 count linen and the OTT definately helped. I think I'm going to just stitch a little while everyday instead of long stretches of it to try to keep the brain pain down.

One thing that I do have to say. The OTT light is UGLEE but it works!!! Sure not as neat as the antique floor lamp that I've been using!!!!

"O Christmas Tree" is another design by Jenny Hoffman. This was stitched on osnaburg,1 thread over 2. Have you tried that???? Don't know if this one will be for sale or not,cause I want a $1000 for it!!!!! I'm old,can't see and doing this caused my brain tumor to go into fits with lots of brain and vision attacks!!!! I've been doing pretty well with the brain attacks due to taking Percocet 3X's a day for the colon pain,but I even added Tyelenol to that and it didn't help. I was determined that I was going to finish all these stitcheries and I did!!! Which brings me to another story.
For a long time I've thought about getting a floor stand Ott lamp with a magnifier. So after this recent episode of the daily brain attacks,not to even get into the problem that I'm always too hot and sweat my head off trying to work at nite under my 150 watt floor lamp,I decided it was time for an Ott. They were 50% off at Joann's and Sunday was the last day of the sale (NOT since a new email from them). Anyhoo we thought we'd go get one Sunday. Well I didn't feel up to going so John said he'd go. Well I always try to do everything I can to make things easier for him. I called Joann's explained that he's on oxygen and would need some help. I gave her the item number,price and sale price. She said they had 3. I told her that I also need a 1 lb. bag of fiberfill and 1 pkg. of white pipe cleaners and 1 pkg. of red. She told me that they were busy. I said well he's on his way and it's only 3 things. They'd have to help him anyway once he got there and isn't that part of the job,to help customers??? She said the items would be at the cutting table. GREAT!!! But when he got there they weren't there. I had given John a list with all the info on it and he said she took her own list to get and went to get the stuff. So when he came home I looked in the bag and there's the largest size of quilt batting NOT fiberfill. I said well this has to go back. So at half time of the Browns game he put my lamp together. I looked at it and said where's my magnifier???? YUP it was the wrong lamp!!! Wish I would have seen the item number on the box BEFORE he put it together. Not the right number I gave her so not the right lamp. I did get the right pipe cleaners though,YEAH!!! I called the manager of Joann's she said she would put my name on the right lamp. So John went back yesterday,MONDAY and got the right lamp!!! He put it together last nite and put it by my chair and I plugged it in. YEAH I can hook without sweating my head off!!!!! I flipped the switch and NO light!! Tried a few times and no luck. I went to take a shower while John checked it out. Well he said that the wires are broken inside. So as I type this he's getting ready to go to Joanns for the 3rd time!!!
I'll let ya know if I actually end up with an Ott lamp or if it's gonna be stuck where the sun don't shine!!!!!

I think I might frame Season of Hope. It's a design by Jenny Hoffman. The little Merry Christmas stitchings are my design and will be finished into ornies.Lot of work left to do on them yet though.

I CAN NOT OVEN DRY RIGHT!!!!! 30 some years of doing shows,being known for my dolls and Santas and I grunged stuff before grunging was the "IN" thing to do. But NEVER in the oven!!!! Last year I caught some angel wings on fire that I had made from an antique quilt!!! Of course it had that old cotton seed batting in it,so everytime I thought I had gotten it to stop burning,I'd look back in the kitchen and there'd be smoke billowing up again!!! AND I thought I was gonna kill myself from the fumes that were coming from that old batting!!! Good thing John wasn't home!!! The doll was almost finished at this point and I thought,I am NOT going to throw this out after all this work. So I managed to fix her and she SOLD!!!!!

This is a bigger "Everyday Angel" and the next time you see her here you won't recognize her. I've got an idea!!!!! The gingerbread boys?? I'll fix them up somehow. Now for the next things that need to be finished. I am so NOT good at doing this blog that I'm betting my pictures are all out of order. But I'm not starting over so if they're mixed up,I'm Sorry and if they're not YEAH FOR ME!!!!!!

I've been wanting a lid for my crock.I know it was probably an old barrel lid and I didn't know if it would fit my crock,but by golly it fits perfectly. I used to decorate everything that didn't move for Christmas. Even 5 trees!! But the past few years there's been NO decorating going on,but I bought this tree at the show,so there,now I'm decorated LOL!!!!!! So there ya go you've seen all my goodies from the show!!!! I'm so thankfull that I got to go!!!!!!

Another thing I'd like to give thanks for,is that the elections will be over by Wednesday!!!!

I am SO sick of it all!!!! Our phone has been ringing constantly with recorded political messages. AND everday our mailbox is filled with political ads that go right in the trash!!!!

AND all the constant TV commercials that don't actually tell what the person will do for you,which prolly wouldn't happen,but just trash talk about their opponent. Isn't it a shame that all the money that's used on this annoying garbage couldn't be used to help people?????

So since I finished the rug yesterday,I had to get something drawn up. So I'm hooking a squirrel!!!! YUP a life size one!!!! It'll be stuffed and have an acorn or two!!!!

The one time I did go we had it all planned that John would take me and spend the day in Lori Brechlin's room,which he did and it worked out great. He watched TV and took a nap and then I found him in the resturant when I was ready to go.

But he's much worse now. Most of the time he's in bed. We figured that just for him to drive there it would take at least 3 of the large oxygen tanks and that's not counting that he'd be too worn out.

So last nite my Sweet Friend Lauren,Rugs and Pugs, said she has the week-end planned with a college friend and she said that she could give me a ride there Friday morning,but she didn't know about about getting me back home cause she's not coming home till Sunday.

Maybe I'll just stay there!!!!

OK everybody hold their Breezies on!!!! There may be a chance that I'm going to get to go to the Simple Goods Show!!!!!!!!! If it does happen it will be due to a couple SUPER Kind and Sweet and Dear Friends!!!!! If it happens I will be going Friday and spending the nite,which I'm sure will be WILD considering the group of us that will be there!!!!!

My heart is pounding from excitement and nervousness!!!!

Would you believe that I'm 63 years old and I've never ever done something like this with girl friends????? John said,well then it's about time that you do it,you're long past deserving it.

But John is part of my nervousness. It's been happening very fast lately,that he's becoming bedridden,so natuarally I'll worry. Also I don't want to be a pain in the ass for the people I'm with cause of my health problems. It's kinda embarrassing to be in the way on a handicap scooter. Believe me there are people at these places that get very pissed off if I'm in the way and of course I'm going to be in the way,cause this is a very small place and very tight between booths. But I know my Chickie Poos will have my back LOL!!!!!

Mobile Mutts came Monday to groom Sissy,the 2lb Yorhshire Terrorist. She does not like being groomed one little bit!!!! So we spend the day telling her how pretty she is. I wanted her to sit in the toy wheelbarrow so I could take her picture. I've never seen that evil eye look before. Maybe she does it behind my back,when she's thinkin',1st she makes me get groomed,then she puts me in this silly wheelbarrow and tells me to smile (she really does smile). I don't think so!

I just finished this rug this afternoon. It's a runner, hit or miss style of course. I think it would look neat above a door too,don't ya think???

Well anyhoo I got it steamed and the pictures taken and I was pooped so it was rest time and I'm feelin' yucky. Time for a percocet and maybe a phenergan too for the sicky tummy.

But it's 8:30 and I don't have another rug ready to work on. That bums me out, cause even if I'm hurtin' I'm hookin' and there's nothing ready to hook!!!

It works best when I can just sit in my chair and pick up the frame and hook. Too much movin' around getting a design drawn up and wool picked out and cut. For those of you that have come here for awhile and know about my health (or lack of) problems no I'm not better and never will be. I'm still in constant pain and the 3 to 4 percocet that I take a day only keep me from screaming bloody murder!!!!

But anyhoo back to hookin'. I think I'll do some kind of turkey rug next. Just wish it was ready to go cause it's kinda late to get it all together now. Guess I'll just have to sit here,shoot. John would say good!!!

IT'S FINISHED!!!!

I finished my rug Monday nite!! Steamed it yesterday (Tues.) and listed it on ebay.

It was kinda a difficult rug to hook. It's actually a beautiful needle punch pattern by Teresa Kogut that's only 5" X 5". I tripled the size,but with so many motifs and details everything was very close together. The finished rug is my 2nd try at enlarging it. The 1st time everything just seemed really too close together.

If I ever hooked this rug again,which I can pretty much be sure that I won't,I'd enlarge it much more than I did.

Well, hopefully,someone will feel that they can't live without this rug!!!! Even though it has a pumpkin on it,it's a rug that I'd keep hanging on a wall all year round,cause it has a good everyday message on it,"GIVE THANKS"

I WAS AT A HOOK IN TODAY!!!!!!

Although I never left my house or my chair!!!!!

Lori Rippey called for our usual yada yada and I was hookin' while we talked and so was she.

It's not unusual that we were both workin' on something while we talk but she might be stitchin',etc.,etc. and I might be hand sewing,etc.,etc. This time we were hookin' at the same time. So I said Hey we're at a Hook In today we should post it on our blogs!!!! Lori said OK and I said you go first LOL!!!!! She's on to my teasin'!!!!!

So while we were still on the phone,I picked up my camera and took a picture of it right from the chair I'm sittin' in!!!!!

So here it is!!!!

Lori wanted to finish a tiny bit more before she takes her picture,so her's should be on her blog soon. At least it BETTER be LOL!!!!!!

A Computer WIZ I AM NOT!!!

A few days ago I got this light bulb thought. You see I'm hooking these penny candle rugs. I've sold 2. They're really neat and I enjoy hooking them. So my bright idea was to put pictures of them on the left side of this blog and post that I'd take orders on them. Well as hard as I tried it just would not work!!! At one point they ended up on the right side with just a very small portion of the pictures showing,even though I had clicked on the thing that says,shrink to fit. So then I thought screw it,I don't have time to sit here an mess with this when it's just not working,so I deleted everything and went on my merry way and put them on my picturetrail and my Etsy store. DONE!!!!

Well not hardly. In the strange world of cyber space I began to notice that on other peoples blogs that have me on their favorites list,those partial pictures of the candle rugs was showing up. And not only that,but when you clicked on it the page comes up as error and not available.
I AM TOO AVAILABLE !!!!!
I checked everywhere on my blog and that post was NOWHERE here just on everyone else's blogs!!!
So yesterday,when my friend Julie,Plum Run Creek, called I told her about it and she said it would stay out there until I put a new post up. So that's what I'm doing with this post I hope the weird one that's out there will disappear!!!!!

Last nite I got an email from a very sweet lady. She started out by saying that this was probably a bit awkward,but she's trying to find From Sherry's Heart and the candle rugs and can't find it,she even googled. When I wrote to her, she wrote back and said Sherry!!!! It's you???? She couldn't believe she had found me. She said that she was even going to email Lori Brechlin to see if she knew how to find me!!! LOL!!!! I hope with this new post that the weird one will totally disappear into cyber space where it belongs!!!!!

HOOKIN' and CHILLIN'

After the miserable summer I had of being HOT HOT HOT all the time,think of a NEVER ending hot flash, I am LOVIN' this cool weather!!!!! Some people in this house don't agree with me,John. The other day he felt that he wanted the furnace on,just because it was in the low 40's. OH NO!!!!! So I went in my bedroom and closed the registers in there and in the Porta Potty (so called master bathroom Ha) had the window open and the ceiling fan on,aaahhhh.

There was one day that I actually did have on sweat pants, a t-shirt & sweatshirt jacket on. The sweatshirt jacket didn't stay on long though

So I've been hookin' & hookin' listing on ebay,packin' stuff to ship,still listing my vintage wool,etc.,etc. And doing my constant daily quest for a place to live. I VERY seldom leave the house,but I sure am busy all the time!!!! AND I just don't know why the time has to go WAY faster than I do!!!!!

NEWEST HOOKED RUG

This is a design by my buddy Lori Brechlin,Notforgotten Farm. A few weeks ago I did a needle punch of this drawing and at the same time,I decided it would make a really neat hooked rug. So I enlarged it. I wanted the background to be kinda neutral,it's a brown & cream tweed so I could to the "cat's ears" in all the colors of Fall. My favorite time of year!!!!
BUT it may be Fall now and there's no difference from summer. It's STILL too HOT!!!!!
The heat has REALLY taken me down this summer!!!

Here's a pillow that I have on ebay right now. It's really cool!!!! I hooked a Lumina pumpkin onto a vintage Army blanket,then I stuffed it with wool scraps for that olden lumpy feel and look.

I also am selling TONS of vintage wool on ebay!!! A long time ago an antique dealer friend brought me a truck load of wool that her partner had bought. The way lots of the pieces are cut I believe it must have been from an old factory where they made suits. I have made and sold so many things from this wool!!!! I'm selling it VERY cheap not because there's anything wrong with it,but because I STILL have so much of it!!!! I really have to clear out this house of everything that I can cause at some point they're prolly gonna make us get out of here!!!! So if you can keep a watch on my auctions I have lots of neat stuff to sell!!!!!!

The wool is in tweeds of browns and greys. And a solid grey. I'm packing it in Flat rate priorty boxes in medium and large and stuffing the boxes with as much wool as I can pack in there. There's all size pieces and parts so it would be great for hooking,penny rugs, stuffing and all kinds of crafts.

my birthday. No big deal, no Happy Birthday, just birthday.

NO it's NOT Obama's BD, It's MINE and the dead Queen Mum's. That's one reason why I've been called The Queen,since the early 90's when she died.

Well 2 more years and Medicare can start payin' some of the medical bills. This is me being optimistic that I'll make it 2 more years!!!!!

So this is what I did today,finished this needle punch and listed it on ebay. It's a design from my buddy Lori Brechlin's newer pattern books. I even decided that I was not going to take my nap today. I was determined to get it finished,cause it seemed like I've been working on it forever. I aged it yesterday,but it just didn't want to dry. So I started stitchin' one of Lori's newer patterns last nite. Got pretty far along on it too. I thought maybe I'd finish the stitchin today,but I see it's almost 9:00 already,so I guess it'll be tomorrow Scarlet.

"Smilin' Jack" was difficult to get really good pictures of because of it's size. It's 5" wide X 25" long,which makes it a really cool size to hang anyplace. It's especially neat to hang on a cupboard door!!!! For a little bit more whimsy,I stitched a primitive rusty tin JOL on the top.
Also those handstiched wool JOLS are really much neater in person than my pictures. The wood handle box they're in is reversible and can be used for anything your imagination can come up with to put in it. Since it says TOOLS on one side,I think it would be great to put your sewing tools in it,to carry around to your favorite stitchin' chair.

Well let's talk about the weather,since it's a BIG topic of conversation all over the country now!!!!
IT'S TOO HOT!!!!!

Here in OHIO we used to get our hottest days in August and THAT'S when we'd say it's the dog days of summer. Holy Moly since we've been SOOOO hot,I wonder what August will be like!!!!! Heat and MS DO NOT go together at all!!!! I don't mind so much cause I seldom go any place anyhoo. BUT I do love to have the windows all open and that's so not possible now. That's why Fall is my favorite time,sweater weather!!!!

I feel so sorry for people who don't have AC. If you can stand the mess in this house,you're all very welcome to come here and cool off for awhile!!!!!

Well,I guess it's naptime,though I'd rather keep working on the Hallowe'en large needle punch that I've got going. It's a pattern by my buddy Lori Brechlin. I don't know if any of you are like me,but while I'm workin' on one thing, my mind is full of all the other things I want to make!!!!

TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL

This is the latest rug I finished. I spent over a week and a half on it,with a couple Dr. appts. and lots of naps thrown in. The design is by my buddy Marte of Boggy Creek Primitives. It's a needle punch design,that I decided to enlarge to hook. Marte sells this needle punch pattern on her selling blog,if you're interested in it. Just go over on the right of this blog and you'll find Marte's selling blog.

Now here's the problem. I REALLY like this rug. BUT my job is to make things TO SELL NOT TO KEEP!!!!! So that is the problem!!!!! I only have 2 rugs that I've made that I actually have everything else has been sold so I just can't decide!!!!

BTW does anybody know of a place where we can live?????

MY LATEST HAND DIDS

These are my sawdust cats. I made the 1st one in 1991 and guess what,I STILL have it!!! I was making them for shows and I just couldn't part with it. So he still holds a place of honor on my red shelf!!!! These sawdust filled cats are based on a design by folk artist Kay Cloud. I used to make a lot of sawdust dolls during my show days. I have 2 that I kept. I also have a black sawdust doll that's been waiting for quite sometime to not be nekked anymore. She wants clothes and to be listed on ebay!!!!!

My sawdust cats are all handsewn using 100% vintage wool.

Then there's the "HERBS" pocket pillow that I finally finished. The needle punch pattern is my Buddy Lori Brechlin's design. TWO days of stitchin' to get this pillow finished!!! It's kinda hard to get the pocket stitched in the center of the vintage wool army blanket just right!!!! I'm pretty fussy with my work. And of course there is all those hours spent sleeping LOL!!!!!! I've got another pocket punched and I really should finish it the way I finished this one cuz I love how this one turned out. The other pocket says "POSIES".

BUT today I started workin' on a design of my own,some punched strawberries that I have a special idea of how to display them. AND there's a punched pocket that's all sewn,sittin' on the deck drying after being aged. So lots to do This isn't even the half of the things waiting for me!!!!!

HOW Does One Make The Decision...

whether to just keep living one day at a time with monstorous things going on in my body that cause such pain that even with the constant doses of percocet and bentyl,I still at times want to scream,take it out now. Or the debilitating fatigue that makes me have to tell my friends on the phone that I don't have the energy to talk. I think I've reached the point now that I could easily sleep through the day,if I didn't force myself to get up. If you know Sherry,talking too much has NEVER been a problem for me LOL!!!!!
My chances of living with surgery or without are not very good. One surgeon here said that operating on me is certain death,BUT he's also an ass. I saw the sadness in my Dr.'s face when he told me that no surgeon will touch me here and that he wanted me to go to the Cleveland Clinic (they'll try anything there!!)I told him that I don't want to go and he said but we can't keep you alive here,I said,then I'll die. He said,I don't want you to die. So if I went for the surgery,which my Gyne Dr. says,would be long,difficult and probably would take 2 surgeons to do,how would I be afterwards. The MS has already taken enough from me due to other traumas. I don't care if I couldn't walk like I can now,only having to use a wheelchair if I'm out,but I couldn't stand to not be able to use my hands to create things like I can now. Also John can't take care of me,either can the kids.They work and have no room. I DO NOT EVER want to be put in a Nursing Home EVER EVER EVER!!!!!!!

Sometimes on Saturdays I get an email from a beautiful,beautiful lady from my ebay group named Ann and she'll ask do I want to talk. So I'll call her.Yesterday she wrote and I thought,oh I'm too tired to talk and if anybody understands that it would be Ann but she's so sweet I wanted to call her. You see it has to be at certain times when she's able to talk to me and I'm honored that she wants to use her time and energy to talk to me. Ann has ALS so she is totally confined to a wheelchair and dependent on others. And Thank You God she has so many others helping her!!!!! And even another wonderful member of the group,Pam who's such a generous and giving person,will go to Ann's to visit with her and sew her binding on the rugs that she's still able to hook. I'm very fortunate to count these ladies among my wonderful friends. Ann is very happy and totally at peace with the coming end of her life. I so wish I could reach that point with her. We talk about it. Yesterday she said she hoped that it would be the brain tumor that would get me and I agree cause maybe it could be a coma and go peacefully,rather than the horrendous death of my colon bursting and becoming septic.

I still keep trying to work as much as I can. The 2" block hit or miss rug,was won by my buddy Lori Brechlin and I'm VERY honored that another of my rugs will be hanging in the old Notforgotten Farmhouse. The other rug is on ebay right now.
Yesterday I started hooking another rug and it was going so well that I forced myself NOT to take my daily nap and just keep hooking!!!!! So when I get off this puter I'm goin' back at it,but I may not get away with the no nap thing today LOL!!!!

John's doing pretty well. Actually he's doing VERY well considering everything!!!
This week the Physical Therapist and the nurse came to release him from home care. So now he'll go back to the rehab hospital where he was for 3 weeks for out patient physical therapy.They have more equipment there for him to use to build muscle strength. He's there right now for his 1st day. We don't know yet how many times a week he'll be scheduled for yet,he'll find out today. I think it's GREAT!!!! Now we won't have to have all these people comin' in & out of here all the time. We've both had enough of that and Sissy too!!!!!

We had back to back appointments last week with our family Dr.He said John's doing well & released him to drive again,LOL how does he think we got there!!!!!
As for me,not so good. Still have thrush (since October)and have developed something else on my tongue along with it.Don't know what it is,it starts with a P though.
He also said that there's no surgeon here that will touch me. I'd have to go to Cleveland to a trauma hospital.He told John if I get a fever and he sees bleeding to call. John said call you and he said no,an ambulance and have them take her to Cleveland. I said they won't do that and also I'm NOT going. He said,well I can stabalize you at the ER here,but that would be all they could do,because I will be septic. He feels bad,I know cause he said we don't want you to die and I said,well you're forgetting about the brain tumor & the MS. IF I could survive the surgery,both would be affected and there's no one to take care of me & I will NOT go to a nursing home. I want to be able to still do the things I'm doing,even if I am much slower nowadays with getting things made & listed.
Don't you wish you could come up with all the things you'd like to say to the Dr. WHILE you're there,instead of when you go home and have a chance to think about what was said?????? Boy I sure do!!!!! About 3 times the Dr. said to me,"I didn't expect you to look this good". Wish I would have thought to ask what do you mean,for someone who's dying????? I'm thinkin' of writing him a letter. There's just never enough time to say everything while you're there AND he does AWHOLE LOT of talking & then says OH I gotta get goin' LOL!!!!!

Also wish someone could tell me what to do about the house.Stay here & wait till we get kicked out or look for a place. It's really hard to know what to do,cause I don't know how much time I have left. Only God knows that and so far he's not telling me.

On a lighter note I finally was able to add pictures here of a couple of NP's that I have listed on eBay right now.The blog just wouldn't let me before.Sometimes these blogs get temperamental!!! HA Don't we all!!!!!
I have MANY things that need finishing. I've decided that I need a Mini Me!!!! That way I could just sit & punch or hook or stitch and then throw it over to Mini Me to finish and list!!!!
I'm hooking another of my hit or miss rugs.This one is pretty different. Do you know these hit or miss rugs that I do actually take longer than other rugs???? I'll put a picture up when it's finished.

FOOD FOR JOHN

We have a Social Worker from the hospital. She came a week ago yesterday. Haven't heard back from her yet.But she did tell us that the meals on wheels costs.I always thought that was free. Also they could send someone in to clean,but that costs $15 to $30 an hour.
Then a Social worker came last Monday from the Senior center of the city we live in.
Her and I could prolly talk all day!!!!! She's into primitives and goes all over the place and mostly looks for true antique painted furniture. Names and places were flying back and forth between us that we both knew and have been to. In fact she needs to check if she has anything made by me cause she's been to the shows I used to do and the stores that I sold wholesale to. She wants to do so much for us that I ended up crying and just had to hug her. I thought WOW maybe somebody's really gonna help us!!!!! So anyhoo she said I'm going to call your Dr. and get meals on wheels started right away. John asked,how do I pay,do I give them money when they come??? Katie (that's her name)said nope you're not going to pay anything. UNBELEIVABLE that WE would get something FREE!!!!!!
So Friday was our 1st day. A lady came about 11:00 and handed me 2 meals. They were for the main course,elbow macaroni with hamburg,tomato sauce & kidney beans all mixed together,about 1/2 cup of green beens,a roll & 1 pat of butter & 1/2 cup applesauce. I let John have mine.
We didn't know that they don't come on Saturday & Sunday.
Today @ 11:00 a lady brought the meals. Today was in each meal,a piece of boneless ribs,about 2" X 4",1/2 cup of corn,piece of bread & 1/2 cup applesauce.I let John have mine. This is fine. If I give him mine then it's enough for him and he gets a meal. I'll just stick to my sandwich for lunch and a bowl of cereal with some fruit on it at nite.
He's doing very well,I think. The nurse is just going to come once a week now. The Physical Therapist comes twice.She was just here at 9 this a.m. I'll tell ya what,I couldn't do the exercises that he's doing!!!! She usually takes him out for a walk with his walker while she pushes the oxygen tank,but they didn't do that today,cause it's sunny but very chilly here. We want to start working on transitioning him to out patient PT back at the rehab place where he was for 3 weeks. Gotta make sure that he can drive and that Medicare will cover it.They have good equipment there that he was on while he was there. They also have WI (is that right??)that they had him working on. He played golf with the nurse and said it's a real work out. He like to get one for here. I told him,well then we should get one,if it's going to keep him active and help.
I know all my grandkids have it & it really looks cool on TV,but I don't know diddly about it. Do any of you have one?????

As for me,I'm getting more & more tired. I feel like I could sleep round the clock!!!! In fact Friday I laid down about 3,woke up once to pee & get a pain pill and went back to sleep till 10:00!!!!! Gives new meaning to an afternoon nap huh LOL!!!!!!! Being in constant pain sure wears ya out,BUT it also makes me mad,because all this sleeping doesn't allow for getting much work done!!!! I have several pieces punched that need to be finished,but I just end up sittin' in my chair with my feet up just punchin' MORE things to add to the pile of UFO'S!!!!!
I did get 2 pieces finished YEAH!!!!!! They're on ebay now.

TODAY....

John's coming home. He's been gone 5 weeks. Earlier in the week I managed to line up a hospital bed for him. It's from the same place that provides his oxygen tanks. They were bringing it yesterday between 1:30 - 1:45. This would work out great cause Mary Jo was getting food & stuff for him at WalMart and then she'd be here to make up the bed. Well he showed up on time,and got the bed set up. Then he said I'll show you how it works. Well,guess what,it wouldn't work. While he was calling the company Mary Jo showed up with the food & special sheets for the bed. So then the guy ends up telling me that it's broke and they have to bring out a new part between 8 & 9 last nite (Friday)Oh GREAT!!!!! Mary Jo had to get home for the kids,I layed down after 4 and the guy showed up at 5 to fix the bed. I layed down again,tired & hurtin' and in between phone calls from son Mike & John,I didn't get up till after 8.

These heave been 4 percocet days instead of 3 and they haven't been doing too great a job on the pain.

Also last saturday a guy called and said that he wanted to help us do a short sale on our house. I said,how do you know about our house situation, and he said,the court records are open to the public. I said,wait a minute we haven't heard or received a thing from our mortgage co.!!!!!! Well apparently they filed foreclosure on us March 20th and we NEVER heard or received a thing about it. From what I understand you're at least supposed to receive papers BEFORE they file to tell you and also have a paper to fill out the reasons for not making the house payment. Nothing We got Nothing!!!! Then this past Tuesday I had to sign for 2 (one for each of us) very thick envelopes that came certified. They're foreclosure papers. The very next day late in the afternoon,an officer of the court came to the door. He had a badge hanging around his neck. I had to sign the very same papers that I got the day before.

Guess besides trying to take care of John I'm going to have to try to find a place to live.
I'm STILL going to be doing my work though. I have NP's ready for finishing & rugs I'd like to draw up. I guess I'm going to have to cook though. I can't stand very long so I haven't been eating too well. Sandwich for lunch and maybe a bowl of cereal for supper or a pudding cup. Real nutricious huh LOL??????

A nurse will come tomorrow to check John's Coumadin level. Twice a week a physical therapist will come.

Let the fun begin!!!!!! I swear we could be on a Reality TV Show LOL!!!!!!

This was Sunday when John 1st got home. I told Sissy that Mike was bring Dad home. I told her a few minutes to early cause she went to the front door to sit & wait. Every so often she'd hear a car and go to the window by the side of the door & stand up & look out. I'd have to tell her.no not yet,LOL. When he did come in,I thought that little tale would wag off her butt!!!!

Basically the visit made me very sad. He ate a sub that he sent Mike out for. He went to his puter to check the bank statement. I went in there & checked on him,he was shaking & looked bad. He took a nap and when he got up he asked me to call Mike & tell him that he wanted to be back there about 3:30. He was way to tired and just wanted to go back there to bed.
When he left I called Mary Jo and cried. I've spent my life being an overly optimistic person, BUT I have a lot of common sense. I think he's about as good as he's going to get. He can barely get around with the walker. Mike & Joyce had to really help him get up & down the 2 steps to the front door. Yesterday the Dr. in charge of the rehab place pretty much told him the same thing about how much more progress he can make. John told me that he'd at least like to get to the point that he could drive the van at least to go to a drive thru place. There's NO WAY he could drive now. So great,that makes 2 of us!!!!!! Wonder if Sissy has any driving skills???? Naw I don't think those short little legs will reach the pedals!!!!!!

To leave all this on good note. I got to leave the house yesterday!!!!!! Mary Jo took me to get my hair cut. First time since October!!!! I loved it!!!! I didn't want it so short as she did it the last time. I thought I looked GOOOOD LOL!!!!!! Then we went Michael's to get floss. I promised her that she wouldn't have to get my Zoom Zoom out. We were gonna go to Joann's but I know that they don't have any handicap carts. Michael's at least has a wheelchair that she could push me in. I was hurtin' and tired but it was very nice. And boy did I get a ton of floss!!!! AND I saw this magnifier thingy that hangs from your neck. Thought maybe if I used that I'd actually be able to SEE my X stitch!!!! But I didn't get it. UNTIL I found out at the check out that they take Joann's coupons and I had a 50% off one,so Mary jo went back & got the magnifier!!!!

Well, I guess I've filled ya all in on all the stuff,just hope I haven't bored you all silly!!!!!

I listed one of my "Little Rugs" on ebay last nite. The flowers are quilled. Each of them with 2 different textured wools. Geeze, I seem to be getting slower and slower with my work. Comes with age???????

John's coming home today for a visit. Mike's gonna pick him up about 10. I guess I'm a little nervous about it. I don't really know how much he's able to do now. I know he's anxious to come home.I just hope that it doesn't make it harder for him to go back. It's been almost 3 weeks now that he's been in the hospital & rehab.
I bet Sissy's really gonna be confused,when he comes home and then leaves again!!!!

I'm sure everything will be fine,just different.
I might try needle punch again today. Haven't been doing it,because my hand has been betraying me by jumping all over. It has a mind of it's own!!! Gonna have to show it who's boss!!!!

Well John's all settled in at the rehab place after our son & his wife & a nurse talked him into it. When he was asked who was going to take care of him at home,he said ,his wife. That's pretty funny!!!! John says he had a brain fart,that's why he said that. Mike told them that it would be impossible for me to take care of him. I said that I'd do whatever I had to,but I told the charge nurse that she'd probably end up with 2 people back in the hospital!!!!!! Notice the yellow band on his wrist that says fall risk????? I need one of those myself after 2 near misses and one complete fall last week LOL!!!!! Imagine me trying to lift him up,FUNNY
An ambulance took him to Life Care on monday. Tuesday Mary Jo took me cause he need clothes and stuff. And that's Sissy, our tiny yorshireterrorist with John. She didn't know what to make of the whole thing,she was upset. Yorkies do not like change and this bed was not the one she's usually in with him. I was sitting on my Zoom Zoom next to the bed and she jumped off the bed on to my lap!!! Isn't it neat that you're allowed to bring dogs there???? John said that evening there was a bunch of them walking around.
John gets to come home on Sunday for a visit. They don't do PT or anything on Sundays so family can come and take the patient out. BUT ya gotta come back that day or it screws up the insurance!!!! I guess he's gonna be there for 3 weeks. Some of the Firemen have said,WOW how does he make it to keep coming back all these times when you think he won't. He's a stubborn Pollack?????

A CHANGE OF PLANS

Yesterday when my son Mike and his wife Joyce were on their way to my house to pick up an oxygen tank for John to come home with,Mike called me and said Dad can't come home,you can't take care of him. I told him that I had done everything I could and he's discharged. When they got to my house,Mike started again. He said what are you going to do,you just can't take care of him,you're not even cooking meals for yourself. I burst into tears and said I know I can't take care of him,but nobody seems to care,I've done everything I can, just go get him and I'll do what I have to do.
Well when they got to the hospital Mike called me and he was pissed to say the least. He said now I'm gonna put my foot down and tell them and Dad that he's not well enough to come home. When they got there and saw that there was 2 nurses putting him on the potty next to his bed,that was it. He's not even strong enough to go to the bathroom on his own,how was I gonna manage it.
They asked John who was gonna take care of him at home and he said his wife. He didn't tell them, that I take 3 percocet a day,just to function,without the pain being as bad and that I'm not able to drive anymore. Mike talked to the charge nurse. She showed him on the chart that he had refused going to rehab. And this thing he told me about the lung Dr. saying that if he couldn't make it at home all he had to do was call and the rehab place would come pick him up. Well,it's not like that. He would have to be readmitted to the hospital for 3 days evaluation and then they could send him to rehab.
The charge nurse and I had a good talk. I told her what was wrong with me and she said no way could I manage to take care of him. I said, well ya know how us women are we'll do what we have to,but ya could end up with 2 people back to the hospital. She kindly said to me,I'm just wondering,whose taking care of you??? I told her me. She said well I'm going to talk to the Drs. and social workers.
When John called a little bit ago,our family Dr. had come to see him and told him that he made the right choice to go to rehab. He also said that there would be some people to help us with things,like changing beds,etc. but you'll have to pay them.
The charge nurse said she was going to tell our Dr. to call me this a.m.but so far he hasn't.
This all boils down to that John will be taken to rehab today. It's a very nice place. Some elderly people choose to live there in small apartments,but it's VERY expensive.
John knows now what he did was wrong,says he musta had a brain fart!!!! He knows that he has to be in rehab cause he's still too weak to do anything for himself.

It'll be the best thing for him right now.

PS: Didn't get my rug finished yesterday,pulled a few worms,but just didn't feel up to it. But I'm gonna DO IT today!!!!!

I truly do wish that for all of you!!!!

There was a time that I cooked a huge meal for everybody for every holiday.

Today I will become a caretaker. In their infinate wisdom the Dr.'s have decided to send John home.

A catch up of the week:
Last Sunday they were talking about moving him out of ICU to a regular floor.
Then in the wee hours of Tuesday morning,everybody came running into his room. He was asleep,but at the nurses station,monitors showed that his heart was going wacky. It would hit 140 then drop to 50. The meds they were pushing didn't work. A heart Dr. was called in. He decided to do a very dangerous procedure. It's called
a Transesophageal Echo Cardiogram. They put him in a twilight sleep,numb the throat and go down his throat to look at the heart for blood clots,which the Dr. felt wouldn't be the problem cause he's been on Coumadin for the past year. Once he could see the heart,there were no clots so he knew he had to do a Cardivert. You've all seen people have there hearts zapped with paddles on TV,I'm sure. Well in this procedure they do it from the inside,right on the heart. To do this they had to put John under General anethesia,which ya don't do to a person with Johns lungs. The heart Dr. came out for a minute to tell me what they had to do.He wanted to get right back to John,cause he & the lung Dr. were watching him very closely for him to wake up otherwise they'd have to put him on the respirator again to breath for him.

Well luckily John did wake up and zapping his heart had converted it to normal rythm.
This can happen again. John has NEVER had heart problems,his heart was very strong. But they told me with his lungs this sometimes happens.

So Thursday nite they moved him out of ICU to the lung floor. Now they say he can come home today.

A few things that have been going on:
To get him up to walk,it takes 2 people & a wheelchair. I know how this is done. John holds on to the back of the wheelchair,the oxygen tank goes on the seat of the wheelchair and the 2 people hold John up.
Also they still have to bathe him cause he's so weak.
He's lost over 40 lbs. since he's been there.
Also,I was not aware and I don't know why not,that he's been on Insulin since he's been there for medical diabetes. That happened last year too. Don't know if he'll still have that at home or not.
But despite all that they're sending him home today,for me and me alone to take care of him.

Did I say we need help???? Yes I did. Asked our family Dr. about us getting help from hospice for both of us.He said did you talk to the lung Dr.???? I said no,I'm talking to you. Next I talked to his ICU nurse about the situation here. She said I'm going to get a Social worker for you. The Social Worker did call me,but it was too early to make any plans. John's lung Dr. did tell him that if he has a problem at home that he's gotten approval from the insurance co. and that he's approved to go to this rehab place. All he has to do is call & they'll come pick him up.

Don't understand why the Drs. couldn't talk to me. They know I'm sick,take Percocet all day to tolerate the pain. I don't even cook for myself,I just maybe eat a sandwich for lunch & some cereal or ice cream and a banana at nite.

I'm sorry if I sound like a beeotch of a wife,but I don't even do that great of a job taking care of myself. I fell the other nite,on the way to a bathroom trip. Hit my back & my jaw & ear on the corner of the wood table. Luckily there was a couple big decorative pillows that go on the floor at nite that I used to help me get up.

Sorry,I guess this isn't a very nice Easter post. I am still working though!!!! Gotta keep stuff on eBay!!!! I have a rug that I've been working on since John went to the hospital. I was hoping to finish it today & list it,but I got a lot to do around here,like clean up some messes in the kitchen, FOOEY!!!!!
Rather hook,stitch,punch, ANYTHING but that LOL!!!!!!

I'll post a picture of the rug when I get it done. There's samplers too!!!!!

I apologize if I bummed anybody out with this post.

NO PICTURES TODAY JUST A HEARTFELT PLEA

for all the prayers that I can possibly get for John.

I had to call an ambulance for him at 4 this morning. He's in ICU,sedated and on a ventilator. I've lost count of how many times he's been in the hospital with pnuemonia,but this is the first time he's had to be put on a ventilator. He always said that he didn't want that. There's also a tube in his nose that his ICU nurse just explained to me on the phone is how they're giving him nourishment and all his other meds.

I'm lost. I can't go up there without a lot of help cause I can't drive anymore and can't walk without my Zoom Zoom. I know he wouldn't want me to,because I'm too ill,but I don't think I want to see him like that. Mary Jo's husband took her up there and she said that she just burst into tears when she saw him. She asked his nurse to please have the Drs. call me cause I can't get up there,she made a note of it.

If God doesn't give you more than you can handle,then when does it end???? We've been through everything and more.

So I'm kindly asking for as many prayers as I can from people for John as I can get. That's all that can be done now.

We started out OK yesterday. John was cleaning up the kitchen and I was frantically hooking trying to get my rug finished so I could list it last nite. I finished,took the pictures and then it was time to take a nap. I didn't wake up till 10 to 8 as John came into the living room in his robe and using a cane. I thought,oh please let it be that his back hurts from sweeping and mopping the floor.
No such luck. He said he was really sick and almost called Mary Jo to take him to the hospital. He was coughing pretty bad & had a low fever. I think it must have been higher when I was sleeping,cause he wasn't having chills & then getting hot again. Started taking care of him and gave him Tylenol.
Long story short,I know it's pneumonia again. He's had it so many times,I've lost count.His immune system is so low. So far he's feeling better,but I've told both kids just be ready cause he may have to be takin' to the hospital.
For now I'm taking care of him. Ironic,ya know that old saying,the blind leading the blind???? Well this is the sick taking care of the sick LOL!!!! I'm doin' my best.
Just gotta keep on keepin' on and that's what I do.

I did finish the rug & with much difficulty got it listed last nite. My lap top wouldn't let me get the pictures. But I did some foolin' around with the big puter and got it listed. At 12 today my son Mike came to put the garbage out and bring some ginger ale and more Tylenol for John. Thank God I had called and asked him to do those things,cause in a matter of a few minutes he also fixed the lap top.

REACH OUT AND TOUCH SOMEONE

All of the sudden yesterday as I was going through my usual rounds on the puter,I set it down and thought,I'm going to call Marlene.
We've known each other since grade school. I haven't seen or talked to her in about 4 years.
Very few people around here know how sick I am and I'm not someone who will call just to complain or have to share bad news. Especially when I haven't talked to them in a very long time.

Don't know what happened yesterday that made me all of the sudden get up and get her number from my book and call her. Maybe God gave me a kick in the butt?????

She was so happy to hear from me. She said she thinks about me often. Right away without hesitation she said,can I call you next week and come over and do somethings for you???? Ah, you can call me,BUT I don't want you to see me or this house!!! She said, Sherry,it's me,you know I don't care!!!! She's always been the one all these years ago when things started going so bad for us,that would lecture me about accepting help. I've never been good at that. I'd rather be the HELPER not the HELPEE. One day she had said,you've always done so much for others,why don't you let us have the priviledge of helping you???? WOW that had brought tears to my eyes,cause I've never felt that I did enough for others.

But anyhoo the point of all this is,we all are so busy,and time goes by so fast and you think of a friend,usually when we're busy doing something else. We think,oh I should give them a call,but we go on and forget so more time goes by.

Friends mean the world to me and they're so important in our life journey,we don't forget them,but maybe we don't always connect with them in our busy-ness as often as we should.

Is there a friend in your life that you could make happy today,to let them know you're thinking of them?????

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!!

Well if you've read my ramblings at all on this blog then you know I'm always saying that I have tons of stuff around here NOT finished.

I had a minor break through yesterday. I TOTALLY finished something and listed it on ebay last nite!!!!!!

This olde Hare is a needle punch pattern by Wendy of Pine Berry Lane. I guess I punched him prolly almost a year ago and he's been sitting around waiting his turn to be finished. Just wasn't sure HOW I wanted to finish him,the way Wendy did it in the pattern or my own way. So yesterday my own way won and The Olde Hare got finished and he's listed on ebay right now!!!! I might add that it's the ONLY thing I got done yesterday,but at least it was something!!!! If you'd like to take a closer look at him, you can click on my ebay button over on the right side. Don't know what's up for today, but I do have 4 of my original 3-D chicks hooked,that I wish were done,but there's a lot of finishing work that I do on them,so I'm not sure if it'll be their turn today or not. Boy you sure can get lead from one thing to the next on the puter,can't you and before you know it hours have gone by and ya haven't even brushed your teeth yet LOL!!!!!!

WHAT HAPPENED

to Sunday???? Seems I totally lost it!!!!

Don't have a clue what time I got up due to the time change. Did my usual,got my coffee,headed for my chair and got on the puter

I do remember talking to Julie and Lori Rippey on the phone. I also remember saying to Lori OMG it's 1:30!!!! I thought it was still late morning and I haven't done a thing!!!!

So I stitched a bit on my sampler and the quit to eat some lunch. Then of course it was nap time. Couldn't see the clocks to know what time it was when I woke up for a bathroom trip. I thought geeze my eyes feel like they still want to be closed,so I got a yogurt and layed back down on the loveseat. Guess I fell asleep again. Next thing I knew the yorkshireterrorist (Sissy) was jumpin' up on the loveseat cause she wanted to join me. I picked her up and we layed there for awhile more.

When I FINALLY did get up,I was just in time for Desperate Housewives & Brothers & Sisters and then bed.
So I lost the whole day!!!!! So many things I had wanted to work on, but that didn't happen and I feel bad about that.

It was a pretty pain filled week-end and when I'm asleep is the only time I don't feel the pain at all. But what a waste to sleep the day away. I didn't get up till after 8 today. I used to always be up between 5 & 6.

I know the time change had a bit to do with Sunday disappearing,but I truly hope that I get some work done today!!!!

Did anybody else have trouble with the time change?????

I've apparently done something REALLY REALLY bad on this blog. Everything's GONE

My template, My followers,My kitty clock,ALL my links to other blogs, My ebay link that I don't even know how I got it. Remember I had one of the dolls I've made at the top corner and that was my contact me link.

It's ALL GONE I'm so sad cause I really don't know how to fix any of this. Julie, Plumrun Creek, has helped me before but this is worse then ever and some of those links I got myself,not really knowing how I did it,but I did. I'm embarrassed to call Julie. She's done a lot of helping me with this.

I don't know what to do. I've tried and tried and I think puter dummy me only accomplished making things worse. NEED HELP!!! Guess I'll just go back to the crying thing.

What can I say???? I guess this is a rug that people will either love or say,what was she thinking!!!!

Well John REALLY likes it!!!! Although that's kinda scary cause he has some pretty strange taste sometimes.

Guess all I can really say is that I did my best and put my heart into it just like I do with everything I make.

So, what to do today!!! There are many nekked dolls to make clothes for, some that are dressed but need finishing work, there's needle punch needing the finish work,there's a sampler sitting here on my footstool more than half done,there's lots of wool calling to me too. BAR-B-QUE BEEF

I was given orders today to post more often on my blog. I won't name names,but she lives at Notforgotten Farm.
I told her that I have a good bar-b-que beef recipe for sammies and she said she'd like that,so here it is!!!!!

2 lbs. stew meat

1 cup water

!/4 cup sugar

1 med. onion - diced

1 medium size can tomato sauce

1/2 cup vinegar

1/3 cup worcestershire sauce

Brown meat and add rest of the ingredients

Bake at 325% for 3 hours

When tender smash with potato masher or use portable mixer until meat is stringy.

Now I must add a word of advice here. The 1st time I made this many many years ago,I poured the whole thing in a bowl got my portable mixer out put it on high and went to it. Next thing I new everything in the kitchen within 3 feet was splattered with bar b que including me!!!!!

So use a deeper bowl than I did and put your mixer on low,I'm just sayin'

Maybe tomorrow I'll show a pic of the wacky doodle rug that I'm almost finished hookin' But I don't want to hurt anybody's eyes,so we'll see.

DID ANYBODY LOSE A SHOE?????

Well HERE it is!!!!!
Yup I've still been stitchin'!!!!!! I have another sampler that I've been workin' on,but then yesterday a strange thing happened. I kept hearing this noise. It was relentless. Kept getting louder and louder. And THEN all of the sudden I knew what it was!!! YUP I've heard this noise before,many times. I knew what it was and I knew it wouldn't stop till I answered it.
It was the call of the WOOL!!!!!! Come cut me,come hook with me,I've been waiting!!!
So even though the sampler isn't finished,I answered the call of the wool. There's really nothing you can do when the wool calls,except get a rug drawn up and go to the wool. So now I'm hooking. Not happy so far with what I'm doing,seems I've done quite a bit of reverse hooking and I'm still not sure. But I guess I'm doin' another this is my brain on drugs rug. It's calling me again so I better get to it. These in progress rugs just won't leave you alone,unless you hide it in the closet.preferrably in a box with a tight lid on it!!!!!

ACTUAL FINISHED WORK!!!!!

These stitcheries are what I worked on last week. With the longer and longer naps everyday it seems to take me forever to get things done.
So last saturday and sunday I worked on finishing these,with big plans of listing them on ebay Sunday nite. DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!!! You would have thought I was new to this stitching and aging thing, not that I've done it since the early 80's and that I even had my own little cross stitch and needlepoint shop. I even taught many many classes on these hand arts.
All my aging was coming out really bad!!!! Colors of previous washed fabrics were running onto the stitchery. A MESS,so disappointing.

BUT being determined as I am, I was NOT going to give up!!!! Well I did have a thought of throwing the red flower one out. It was just a fleeting moment though!!! So I took it apart and redid it.

I still have another sampler that's all stitched,but I can't decide how I want to finish it. I did it on vintage linen so I don't know what the count is and I SURE wasn't gonna count the threads to find out!!! Especially with these old eyes!!!! But it ended up too big for a pinkeep.

I'm workin' on another stitchery right now. It's a pattern of my buddy Lori Brechlin, Mary Black's shoe pinkeep. Wonder if I'll finish it.

I feel that I've kinda lost my mojo after all these decades of making and selling my work. I used to make tons of all kinds of dolls. I still want to,but I just don't seem to have it in me right now.

It's just easiest for me to sit in my chair and work on things,but then ya need to get up and do all that finishing work. That's the part that I just don't seem to be up to doing anymore, but I'm trying,pitifully but trying. Long term pain and narcotics sure do wear ya down.

YUP I'm STILL HERE!!!!!

Where do I begin. That reminds me of the song that was in the movie Love Story,hmmm that ending didn't work out to well either.

Well,I'm still very sick. I'm thinkin' of calling the people at the Guiness book of records, because I think I've had the longest running case of thrush. Yup I STILL have it,since October. I've been through all kinds of drugs for it. This last one he gave me the info on it said you only need to take one,but that's for a yeast infection of the va jay jay. He gave me a course of FIVE!!! One every other day. STILL didn't work. I have to call and get some more today.

To try to make this long long story short as I can. I'll tell ya that death gets spoken of often. My colon is shot, I've got several blocked arteries. My Gyne thinks that my small intestines are twisted from adhesions. The surgeon says but he doesn't know that. I tend to trust my Gyne. I've been with him his whole practice except for the 1st 2 years that he wasn't here. He's done 4 major surgeries on me & knows my innards well. He's always said that I shouldn't have anymore surgeries because I'm so full of adhesions & so susceptible to them soon as the knife touches me. He spent an hour talking to John & I and he looked so sad to have to say that I need to get the colon out or I'm gonna start to bleed. Then John said & he calls an ambulance,Dr. said yes.

I've had some not so nice treatment from 2 surgeons at two different times. There partners SURPRISE.
So I spend my days in lots of pain. I take Percocet & Bentyl all day. They don't really get rid of the pain,but I guess dulls it enough to keep me from sitting in a corner screaming!!!!!

So I hook and talk to Dear Caring friends on the phone. Can't do much else & I don't want to sit here & do nuttin' and wait for what the woman surgeon said:"If that colon bursts,it will be the worst pain you've ever known in your life"

There's just so much to say but I don't want to bore you to tears or you'll never come back here LOL!!!!!

I've put some pictures in of just a few of the rugs I've hooked and sold on ebay. Sorry about that empty space,but I posted 1 rug twice & couldn't read the Chinese well enough to completely fix it.

Do you remember that commercial that they'd show an egg & say this is your brain,then when the egg was broken & frying, they'd say,this is your brain on drugs.

That's what I say about my hooking. These are my rugs on drugs LOL!!!!!

There's a saying,if it weren't for bad luck you'd have no luck at all!!!!
Kinda fits John and I but it's too negative a statement for me. I try to keep smiling and making jokes to laugh and make others laugh,maybe mostly so I don't cry.

Last Monday a.m. I had an appointment to have a special CAT scan. I guess it's supposed to check the arteries to my colon. A cardiologist was supposed to read it last Thursday.

In the meantime last Sunday nite when John took a shower,he came out & told me that he coughed up a clot of blood. I said we'll have to call the Dr. in the a.m. Then in the morning he coughed up more blood as I was starting to get ready for my test. I said call the Dr.,They said go to the ER. John said I'm goin' to take you 1st & then go to the ER. HA, I don't think so!!! So our son, Mike left work to take his Dad to the ER. Our daughter Mary Jo was supposed to be at work by noon,she came to take me to my test.
The Dr.'s office had told me to take a xanax before I left and another when I got there,cause you have to be still & my MS doesn't usually allow that,especially when I'm stressed. I was definately stressed about John & the tremors were in full force so I popped 2 right away.
The ladies taking care of me for the test were so nice to me,they knew I wanted to hurry & get out of there so I could get to the hospital where John was.

They told me one thing you HAVE to do is drink 64 oz. of water today. Can I drink my Snapple White Tea???? NOPE it's gotta be water,you've had too much of this dye put in you since they did it in the hospital too & if you don't wash it all out,your kidneys are gonna shut down. Oh JOY!!!! Did the best I could on the water!!!

Well John got admitted. Pneumonia AGAIN. The Dr. said the clots he was coughing up was the pneumonia and that he was lucky that he was coughing it up.
I felt so guilty that I gave it to him,since I've had the creeping crud that I got in my Dr's office after I got out of the hospital.

Since I'm still not well,we decided that I wouldn't be coming to see him,so we just talked on the phone.

He came home Thursday nite. Truthfully I really wanted him to stay longer. They were really taking good care of him and I knew that I couldn't do anything for him,since I'm havin' a hard enough time taking care of myself & this Alien that I have in my stomach.

Funny thing,when we'd talk in the mornings,he'd say he just got a bath and a backrub,
WHAT???????? When I was in there,I didn't even get to have my sheets changed!!!!!!
Maybe if ya have a va jay jay ya don't get those extras!!!!!! All I know is that I would have killed for a backrub!!!!! AND in the mornings they'd bring me a couple of wet wash cloths and say do you feel like washing up???? NO!!! OK then they'd just leave them there!!!
Sure not the way I was taught to do things in nursing school!!!!
John thinks I'm going to be put back in the hospital,I'm ignoring him.

BUT I am still working,slowly but I'm doin' it!!!!! I finished a really folk arty turkey rug last yesterday that I hope I can get listed today. I'm sure it won't be everybody's cup of tea,but I like it so much, that I'd like to hurry and do another one!!!!!

Even though there was a sidetrack stay in the hospital,I worked on it little by little as my strenght would allow. I'm NOT gonna sit here and do nuttin'!!!! I GOTTA be workin' on stuff!!!!

I won't bore you to tears with all my health problems,cause there's just too much to say and I don't have the energy to one finger type it all. Sometimes when my dear friends call,I even have to tell them that I have to hang up.

Imagine that, Sherry too pooped to talk!!!! That's a first LOL!!!!!!

I've been sick since the beginning of Sept. with a bladder infection. Pretty common for people with MS. But I am forever thankful that I didn't let the pain keep me from going to Malabar!!!!!

So since then things have gone down hill all the way. Seems my colon isn't happy.
Bleeding and I describe the pain as the last stages of labor.

I BEGGED the Drs. to let me out on a Thursday nite. John needed me at home and besides the woman in the bed next to me was driving me nuts. Had to see my Dr. on Tuesday after discharge. Sat in his waiting room for an hour & a half amongst a whole herd of sickies. So me,who never gets sick with colds or flu proceeds to get the worst cough you ever want to hear. No stuffy nose,no sneezeing,nope took the direct route to the lungs. So this gets added to the severe stomach & back pain.

After being given a Zpac & cough med to take with the other 2 antibiotics I was on,not to mention all the other drugs I was on,John counted 17,I was talked into going to the Drs. office a week ago Thursday nite.

When the Dr. saw me,there were 2 votes for putting me back in the hospital and 1 vote for NO. Guess who's vote the no was LOL!!!!! Well I won!!!! Made sense to me!!!
It was already after 8 at nite,they wouldn't be doing anything except get an IV goin' & respitory therapy and then I'd end up sittin' there the whole week-end before they could address the colon problem.
Then the Dr. remembered that John uses a nebulizer & had the right med for it,so he said to give me treatments. So home I went with ANOTHER bag of drugs.

Actually,I know this is very long but I am skippin' a lot of it.
I've got a bad case of thrush from all the antibiotics I've been on since Sept. Never had that in my life. But now I've got meds for that too.
Then last Sunday I started severe nausea from all these drugs. But now I've got meds for that too!!!!

Did I mention that I can't really eat real food???? NOPE,just things like pudding,yogurt,cream of wheat and heaping handfuls of pills.

I'm having a scan of my vascular system Monday. The colon problem may be coming from the lymphedema in my right leg. The official diagnosis is Ischemic Colitis.
It's been said that what they may have to do is put a shunt through the artery to my colon or remove part of my colon. I dunno about that!!!

Oh and BTW I've developed another bladder infection in the meantime and when I was taken to the ER they found I had no potassium,so I got IV's for that too. Only for it to drop again when the Dr. saw me a few days later,so I'm on potassium pills too,THE worst.

Funny, the MS causes a lot of problems and I deal with them,never thought it would kill me though. I've always figured it would be the brain tumor,now I'm not so sure.
Oh well,one day at a time.

BUT I WILL still keep working!!!! It's slow goin' but I have a rug on ebay now & just sold one yesterday. I've got a pillow all hooked that I hope to get sewn,stuffed and listed today!!!!!

I'm so sorry if I've got you bored to tears by now,but hey I'm sorry, nuttin' exciting ever happens in my life!!! It's not like Rob Lowe's gonna come visit, THEN I'd have something to talk about!!!!

But I had to put something on my blog!!!!

This rug is awful awful awful!!!!! I got this pattern that was drawn on monks cloth a long long time ago,from Barb Carroll. It's been sitting in the pile since the late 80's or early 90's,I dunno,I'm old I forget. Anyhoo I decided that it was time to hook it. Just doin' a little here & there between punchin' and other stuff.

So I NEVER have a total plan in mind when I start hookin' and it's always worked for me. Till now!!!!
First of all I hate the nose. I think it makes him look like a clown. This Jack pattern is one of the 3 in Barb's Jack Jack & Jack pattern. Barb had drawn the nose in a squigelly out of round circle. She hooked her's in red & since I've used red before on noses for my original Jacks,I did this one in red. Don't like it at all!!!!

Over the years I've often added poison colors in my rugs and it's always worked. Don't think it's working this time!!!!
So what do you think of the blue moon,other than making you feel like breaking out into song?????? You DO remember that old song,don't you????
There's a row of deep purple around it,which brings me to the stars. What do you think of the purple stars?????

Also I haven't been able to decide how to do the different size rectangles that's the border. I don't think I'm going to hook them individually different. I have cut up a really neat textured wool that I might just hook the border in & forget the individual blocks.

Well whatever I do,one thing I know for sure is there's a lot of reverse hooking that'll will be happening. Starting with that nose!!!!!

Please,I beg for your kindness. Don't laugh too hard when you look at this rug. You just might pee your pants ya know. And truly I am a pretty good hooker,so please don't judge me on this rug. Like I said I can't even believe I'm showing it!!!!

Well gotta get back to the piece I'm punching to list,which isn't going so well either. Think my needle's dull. Wouldn't be surprised considering how many times I've punched my thighs with it. How long do those needles last anyhow?????

Just realized it's Thursday. Guess you could say that I haven't had a real productive week so far.

A Most Memorable Day!!!!!!

A week ago yesterday,September 19th,I had THE best day that I've had in a long long time!!!! I got to go to the Spirit of Friends show at Mallabar Farm!!!

John drove me to Ashland where my buddy Julie,Plumrun Creek picked me up and we were on our way.

First Julie took me to Katie's house. She was havin' a wool sale!!! Oh my and what a sale it was!!!!! When I saw all the wool she had,I stopped for a second and asked Julie,"am I dead and in wool heaven?" It was FANTASTIC and Katie is just the sweetest!! I REALLY enjoyed talking to her. After being there for over an hour,we were off to the craft show!!!!!
First stop,my friend Bobbie's booth,Union Star Primitives. GREAT stuff in Bobbie's booth!!!! Bobbie didn't know I was coming,so she was very surprised to see me.

Bobbie's booth was also the set meeting place for other friends from our ebay group PRHG.
The 1st one I recognized was Zoe,my buddy Lori Rippey's 4 legged little girl!!!! Then I saw Lori and one by one all the others!!!!! Lori and I talk all the time on the phone and we both never ever thought we get the chance to be together in person!!

My head was whirling!!!!! I wanted to talk to all the friends AND look at everything!!! The day went way to fast!!!! I kept thanking Julie for making it possible for me to be there and John too!!!!

I was STILL on a high all day Sunday!!!!! This was what my life used to be!!!!!
Then it was Monday and I came down from my Happy High with a THUD.

Also that day my buddy,Lori Brechlin was having her show at her place,Notforgotten Farm. I really wanted to go and do her show. At 1st in July when I asked John about going,he said yeah,we could do that. Then it was,well duh we can't go there. Since he's on oxygen 24/7 there was no way that we could have enough tanks to get him through for a few days. I was sad about that,but so happy that Lori's show was very successful too!!!! I know how hard she worked for it.

If you were at the Spirit of Friends show,I was the one toolin' around on the blue Zoom Zoom with Nervous Nellies, Julie & Lori R. constantly saying,"Look Out" LOL!!!!!

When I was washing some of the wool from Katie,one of the colors screamed pumpkin to me. Not your usual pumpkin color, but the rug looks so olde and early that I'd keep it out all year round. All the wool I used for this rug was from the stash I got at Katie's sale. I listed it on ebay last nite,if you'd like to take a look.

Well gotta get to work. I have more things to finish and get listed on ebay today.

Well I FINALLY finished this hooked prairie stump doll yesterday and got her listed on ebay. Her body's been hooked for a loooong time. The thing is sometimes when I design something,I guess I over think how I want to finish it. So then after all this time of her just layin' around I decided she needed to come to life. Got her all handstitched up & even handstitched a bonnet for her. I guess I'm happy with how she came out. She's kinda sweet. John REALLY likes her. He said he wanted to buy her,but he couldn't meet my price LOL.

I've got a rug on the frame started and a needle punch on the frame started and more dolls and stuff waitin' their turn to be finished.

Wish I could get my toes to work too. For pete sake there are 10 of them and they're just layin' there doin' nuttin'!!!!!!

Well I need to move along and see if anything can get finished today.One never knows!!

DILEMMA!!!!!

How can I hook and punch at the same time????? There's SO many things that I want to hook!!!!! There's SO many things I want to punch!!!!!! And then there's stitchin' & sewing I want to do!!!! SO many ideas jumbled up in my head!!! This is my favorite time of year. The Fall & Halloween ideas flow well into the time that I SHOULD be thinkin' Santas and Christmas things. It's always been this way!!! When I did shows it worked just fine. People still were buying my Fall & Halloween items at the Christmas shows. I think what helped was that they'd actually see the items in person and have to have them. Way different than seeing them on line!!!! Seems you always have to be way ahead of the seasons when you sell on line. It's way easier to resist a cool JOL in a picture,than in person when you're thinkin' Christmas!!!!!

Oh I miss doing shows!!!!!

Did I spell DILEMMA right???? Doesn't look right. Oh well I think ya get the idea,right????

ANNIVERSARY

Today is our anniversary.
I have been married ALL my life,45 years.

One nite last week John came to the living room as I sat in my chair working on my needle punch and said, Happy Anniversary. I said it's not our anniversary. He said I knew that (not) but it'll be soon!!!!

Then yesterday morning,I said to him, Happy Anniversary!!!! He said,I knew that (NOT)I was gonna tell you later.

About 1:15 in the afternoon,I said John you're gonna be late for your Dr.'s appointment at 1:30!!!!!! He said yeah it's at 1:30 tomorrow!!!! I said well then why is it on the calender for today???? He looked and said no it's tomorrow,the 28th.

TOMORROW'S the 28th????? OH!!!!!!
So it wasn't our anniversary yesterday!!!!! And NO he still didn't realize it!!!!!

So this a.m. I said Happy Anniversary AGAIN!!!!! But this time it really is!!!!!

Oh yeah we're dangerous!!!!! Neither one of us can remember diddly!!!!!
Nope no celebration plans for today,just another day in the life.

45 years!!!! Geeze I've been married longer than some of my dear friends have been on earth!!!!!

OK NOW MY BLOG'S NOT BROKE....Sorta

Well I came in here this a.m. and my heart sank cause my blog was still messed up. There was this new box that kept coming up yesterday. Said it was new and click here to update your blog,but warning everything may be lost. I sure wasn't gonna click on it yesterday!!!!! But today I thought, what do I have to lose,everything is gone anyhoo. So I CLICKED!!!!! All these small pics of blogs came up,so I picked one to preview and lo & behold THERE was MY blog with everything there!!!!!!!
So I got rid of the template that started all this yesterday. GOOD that worked!!!!

But then I tried to change my background color,cause I don't like that green and yes I clicked on every box to change the colors & hit save. Everything changed to the right color I picked EXCEPT that green background. It's supposed to be a darker orange.

Well, I dunno what's goin' on except I'm tickled pink that my blog is BACK ugly green and all!!!!!!

YUP I am!!!! For someone who seldom leaves the house,I'm always busy,except for naptime of course!!!! Working Working,talking to my dear friends on the phone,while working. Housework,oops no there's no time for that!!!!!
Wish I could work FASTER cause while I'm working on one thing,in my mind I'm working on 10 other things!!!!!

I've been working on these JOL baskets. There so cute I just love 'em!!!!! They're inspired by my Buddy Lori Brechlin with as usual my own way of doin' them. I've done 3 of them. The orange one that I did sold on ebay last week. The 2 pictured here are listed on ebay right now.

Well I'm not gettin' anything done while doin' my one finger typin' here,but I am good at multi tasking,cause while I'm doin' this I'm talkin' to my Buddy Marte,who just called!!!!!

TIME TO CATCH UP!!!!!!

This is "PRISSY" she's listed on ebay right now. Lots & Lots of handstitchin' on this dolly!!!!!!

Well August 4th was my birthday. Contrary to what you may have seen or heard on the news that day,it was NOT his B-Day,It was MINE!!!!! Yup me and the Queen Mum's,the dead one. That's part of the reason that I've been called THE QUEEN since the early 90's when she died. I had to take over!!! And then it was a BIG co-inky-dink that people on my ebay groups started callin' me The Queen. I had never told them that I had been called The Queen for a long time before that. It started cause I was good at Bingo on the groups. And it has stuck. Sometimes I even get mail addressed to:The Queen from some of my internet buddies. Then there's some friends,I won't mention a name (lori brechlin)that sometimes calls me Her Hiney-ness!!!!

One week to the day after my B-day,August 11th was my son's B-day. Well,back when he turned 40 I told him to stop calling me mom and to think of me as his sister and call me by my name. Did he listen????? Do they listen when they're young????? Well I'm here to tell ya that they still don't listen as they get older either.

Having a birthday every year ain't all it's cracked up to be when ya get as old as me. I hear ya sayin', well it beats the alternative!!! But WAIT,it's been said that these are supposed to be "The Golden Years". Well I'm here to tell ya that it's BS at least in my case. And I've heard others say the same thing. So whoever "They" is that said that,LIED!!!!!

The Eternal Optimist that I've always been has worn VERY thin and I've been wondering when "Happy Feet" for Sherry aka: The Queen is gonna come. And yet that optimism somehow stays there that MY day is gonna come!!!!

So I guess in the meantime I'll keep laughin' & workin' & prayin' and SOMEDAY that day WILL come!!!!!

I wanted to tell ya about my cake. Never did get a pic of it like I planned to. But anyhoo,John had asked me the week before what I wanted for my B-day. Well I seldom get a B-day cake,so I said that I wanted a DQ Ice Cream cake. Well, he got one and yes it said Happy Birthday Queen on it. Apparently you're supposed to keep those cakes in the freezer. We don't have a seperate freezer,just the one that's at the bottom of the fridge and there was no room for it there. The cake was BIG!!! I put it in the fridge and ate my cake by spooning it into a bowl. It was still good!!!!!

Now ya see what happens when I don't post for awhile???? I end up goin' on & on!!!!
I wonder how many of you left half way through all this yada yada!!!!

I punched this little mini rug/cupboard hanger from a complimentary pattern from Debbie of Woolensails. Thanks Debbie!!! I really like the look of the browns I used and then a wash in walnut dye to give it an even darker olden look. I listed it on eBay last nite if you'd like to take a closer look!!!

That's the theme song of these sweet little hollyhocks!!!!!!!
Ya see,John's not able to take care of mowing the lawn anymore,so we had to find a guy to mow it. Well one day he decided to weed wack the weeds next to the garage. Granted it was a mess and there were lots of weeds EXCEPT for my mint and hollyhocks that were quite tall and growing great!!! BUT put a weed wacker in a man's hands and NOTHING'S safe from the noisy whirling wire!!!!! The hollyhocks were no more. I was sad. BUT I thought maybe they'll start to grow again. THEY DID!!!!!! They fought to survive and now, though there's less of them the survivors are in FULL BLOOM!!!!!!
AND there so neat too cause I bet they aren't even 3 feet tall about a third of the size that they were before. But being shorties they're standing tall which is really nice.
Aren't they PRETTY!!!!!!

Well I better get to work!!!! Maybe a shower should be 1st though!!!

I WAS HELD HOSTAGE!!!!!!

By this rug for the last several days,but I was released yesterday,FINALLY!!!!!

Ya see it all started this way. I finished a really cool needle punch doll ( NO she's not sewn together yet)and I thought,well now what. Ya see I ALWAYS have to have something on the hooking or punching frames,cause the majority of my time is best spent sitting in my chair with my legs on the ottoman,so my body says.

So anyhoo I looked over at a pile of wool worms (one of several) and thought, that's it, I'll do some sort of Hit or Miss rug,my favorite way to hook.

So I put the linen on the frame,surrounded myself with 4 boxes of worms and started hooking!!!!!! Well the worms wouldn't let me stop for several days!!!! I hooked and I hooked and every morning it would seem like there were MORE worms in the boxes instead of less.
They multiply while you're sleeping ya know!!!!!
So yesterday I FINALLY finished it and gave it a little bath of walnut dye to antiquey it up more. Sure I was about an hour behind my lunch & naptime schedule,but it was worth it beacuse it was done and the wild worms released me from hostage!!!!

I even got it listed on eBay last nite!!!!!

Well there's tons of stuff to do finish work on,but I'm hearing whispers of hooked pumpkins right now. Hope I can get some finishing work done before the whispers turn to yellings and hooked pumpkins take me hostage!!!!!
