DOES YOUR CANDLE NEED A RUG???

 

This is one of my hooked penny candle rugs.

 

I used several blacks for the background to make it look really olde. At least that was my intention if I achieved it or not I guess is in the eye of the beholder.

 

I know,I know I've posted a lot of pictures of it,but I just couln't decide which one to post,so I chose all of them LOL!!!!

 

See the thing is,that at the size, which is 8 1/2" X 8 1/2" there's just so many places that you can display it. Even hang it,like in the 1st picture.

 

I know, I call it a candle mat,but doesn't it look neat on this chair????

 

 

And finally with a candle,not a great one,but anyhoo a candle!!!!

Now I've got to get back to work on the next one that's almost finished!!! It's in squares of textured neutrals or maybe it's just best to say "dirty" whites.

HOT OFF THE HOOKING FRAME!!!

 

Good Morning!!! My newest Hit or Miss rug. I love doing these rugs all kinds of ways.

 

BUT as many as I make I NEVER seem to make a dent in all the boxes and baskets of worms!!! In fact I swear they start multipling soon as I stop hooking and go to bed at nite!!!

 

This one's a great size at 9" X 23" cause you can display it in so many places,like an antique bench,hanging on an olde cupboaed or shelf or a a table runner,etc.,etc.     SOLD

Time to get back to hooking the candle mat that I'm working on as my worms continue to multiply LOL!!!

So what's different about my new items??? Well I asked Shelly if I could have her permission to use her pattern to design a hooked rug and she very kindly gave me her permission. Shelly does FANTASTIC X Stitch patterns and she has a boat load of them that I love,so I hope you'll click on the Pattern Mart link to see them.

 

So anyhoo,I hooked the white rabbit 1st and I liked it so much that I immediately started hookin' the brown rabbit!!!

NEW HOOKED RUG FOR SALE

 

Well Thank You Blogger!!!! I was almost finished and I had written all this interesting stuff & THEN blogger made everything disappear and I'm not gonna do all that one finger typing again!!!! So all my words of wisdom are out floating in space somewhere!!!

 

So I'll just tell ya about my newest design. Often I just put the backing on my frame, pick up my Sharpie & start drawing. I dreww the heart first & hooked it with many different reds as I thought about what else i was going to add. I knew I wanted it to be a sampler type rug. I decided, drew & hooked as I went along. I'm really disappointed that the center block wool around the heart looks so white cause it's definately NOT white. It's beige with very thin green stripes or a VERY dirty white. I think the contrast from the red heart & the brown is what's making it look so white in the pictures. If anyone would like I could send a picture of the wool I used around the heart so you could maybe see what it really looks like.

EARLY WORK MERCANTILE UPDATE DAY!!!

Good Morning!!

Even though I'm still wounded from Sunday's broiler burn and Monday's fall, time waits for no one lol!!!
